I dont know if this made out-of-state news...but its on every channel in California. There has been this fire going on for the past 3 days right outside of Los Angeles, and it's burned over 25,000 acres so far. Its so huge that Im getting ashes in my backyard...and I live seriously 30 miles away.
For awhile the fires shut down some of the major freeways. My dad was driving home and he said it seriously looked a picture of Hell. The sky is completely black, with bits of orage and red seeping through the clouds of smoke. I wanted to go film it but I couldnt get my hands on a camera. It would be some fuckin killer scenery footage.
Anyways...is it me or does it seem like were living in the movie The Day After Tomorrow...only like in slow motion cause the events are spread out a bit. First there was the Tsunami, then hurricanes Katrina and Rita, and now fires in multiple cities. If the fires are still around by Monday, which I think they are...Im totally gonna get a cam and go up there and film.

Yeah, it sucked to be us the other day, fucking we had a huge storm(probably the one you got last week, Weak) and the aftermath shit of Rita fucking join together and slam the shit out of Ohio.. whoo how fun that was.

I can't see the fires from where I live, nor can I smell the smoke. I had an interview set up for tomorrow right there where the fires are burning so that's definitely cancelled.

I heard it on the radio in NZ today. When it said L.A I knew there was going to be a thread by weak.

Hmmm. Yeah Chatsworth is a bit far away from you. But the ones in Woodland Hills area...ashes are all over the southern region of ventura county.

Nah, over the years they put out like 50 fires really quickly, so all the other trees haven't burned and grown again so there all dry and shit, then they can't stop the fires when the start

naw fires are toatlly healthy and nessicary for forrests, it helps spread alot of seeds from plants that usually don't get them, it clears out all the dead shit and in about 5 years after will be doing better than ever

we had a forest fire out here in the pine barrens back in 96, I barely remember it, I was 6 at the time, but now when u drive down sunrise highway u get to a point where there are just barren dead trees standing up like skeleton soldiers, and it's even eerier now because the secondary growth is starting to come in, u kno all the bushes n shit underneath, so it looks relle cool, next time im out that way I'll try n remember to take a picture.
am I the only one who keeps laughing every time someone says bush fire?
