Outbreak of Zombism in Cambodia

Peter Cushing returns from the grave in Although this story was as fake as can be, it did have all of the elements of a real mind fuck.
It had a bizarre disease found in a remote part of a third world country spread by indigenous mosquitoes carrying a variation of a deadly virus.
I mean hell, had this story said that this "mysterious strand of Malaria" was discovered in the Sudan instead of Cambodia, it may never have been discovered to been a fake.
In case you hadn’t heard of this story entitled Cambodian Troops Quarantine Quan'sul it was reported across the Internet on literally thousands of web sites that there had been an outbreak of zombism reported in Cambodia.
Zombism? What is that?
Well it was being reported on thousands of web sites quoting this false story that there was a new strain of Malaria being carried by mosquitoes native to the region, which was batting a .1000 with an 100 percent mortality rate, killing its victims in fewer than 2 days.
But this is when the fun starts.
After the victim dies however, the virus seemed to “restart” the victim’s heart and for the next two hours or so the victim behaves in “extremely violent ways” which doctors are contributing to a combination of brain damage and some chemical that is released into the blood by this particular strand of Malaria.
Here was the kicker.
The article claimed that Cambodia wanted to contain the virus and study it to “increase the quality of life for all.”
See that was the most believable part. You would think that it would be the rare strain of Malaria. Not to me. The most believable part was that someone would find this disease and try to use it to jump start their biological weapons program.
The article quoted General Ary Serey as saying that "We have obtained samples of this new virus and plan to learn how it starts the heart and other major organs of the deceased. We intend to use this to increase the quality of life for all."
The article claimed that the UN took notice of that quote and was apparently sending people into Cambodia to see if Cambodia even has facilities that are secure enough to safely perform this kind of biological research.
The article also claimed that when Condoleezza Rice heard the story she basically said they should destroy it immediately.
You can laugh now and say that it sounds stupid but that is just because you know it is bullshit. Had this zombie article been on the BBC or CNN and not on some spoof site made out to look like the BBC you would be the first in line at the Fox news studios petitioning to deport every Asian in your neighborhood, fire bombing every Chinese restaurant, and tipping over every Toyota or Honda import you could find.
Like I have said before, I might be a cynic but that’s only because I know you.
