Ok Al wrote this up as I guess a closing for Freak.Inc after the dvd they are done, so he wrote this as kinda a rememberence (sp?) to everything we did. Basicly the history of Freak.Inc if you will.
**********----------------------************
freak.inc is a wierd case, were like star trek, we didn't get popular till after we were cancelled
a little intro to this post, nuggeto suggested this to me, me and nuggeto have always had a love hate relationship since the beging if it wasn't for freak.inc we would have never been enemy's or friends, so I don't know take that as you please
this whole post is going to be in 3 sections, freak.inc's history, freak.inc's style and over all motives, and the future.
this is gonna be a long read so if you don't feel like sitting down for awhile I don't suggest you try to tackle it.
originally I was gonna write from the point of when my cousins wern't old enough to buy cky3 so I became fasinated by it and that led to an entire chain of events that then lead to ckf a failed skate team, zine, and freak.inc.
but it would be to long of a read, so I think ill start from the first week of filming freak.inc, and a seemingly harmless prank that in advertently led to the down fall of freak.inc.
okay I just got my first mini dv camera after I sold my ps2 to my brother, and I found out about "the hunt2" we were though 2 weeks late so we couldn't compete. we decided it would be smart though to do all the tasks on the list so we would be ready for the next hunt, we assumed it was gonna happen soon.
we filmed alot of stuff that week, most of it crap actually, cause it was hunt 2 tasks, but we did seem to find time to film some original stuff as well. the most memorable moment though was what is now called, "bunker beatdown". I am pretty shure that story has been posted here before so here is a quick run down
we found a crucifix, put it in front of some construction workers, ran, went back for it, some kid threw a rock (not one of us) the thought it was steven, he got he ass kicked, and now my brother and steven were facing juvenal hall for nothing.
phew, that was hard. okay now there past that week, we released a video, because we only had one tape of our footage (the other one was taken by the cops as evidence)
so from that one tape I made, trailer 1, what it was a trailer to im not shure exactly.
I remember so vividly, steven working his ass off trying to figure out how to upload the video to disturbed films from our computer. and us spending the rest of that night constantly refreshing the page reading the comments, one moments happy as fuck, the other pissed and depressed, then happy again.
over all the video was hated though, we were all pissed, cept for me and steven. not untill recently do I relize that steven probably loved freak.inc as much as me, because he is the only one that was on the same wave length about shit.
the rest of the group was like fuck freak.inc, but me and steven fell in love with the whole concept for homegrown, we tried to learn all about it, I tried to edit better (that was a year ago and I still can't do it for shit). but we had alot of saved footage that we planned on using for our next video. which would be called shake it good style, and led to the first crack in the al cantu steven laird alliance.
the video shake it goodstyle was released entirly on the concept I was going to be grounded for ever and would not have a chance anytime soon to release a video. so without nuggeto's concent I released the video on the internet. it was a success and you would not believe how fucking stoked me and nuggeto were, he was pissed though cause like I said, it was without his concent.
this is a hard subject to takle really, I can't find out where to grip it, but from this point on me and nuggeto butted heads, but we tried our hardest to hold the group together, we didn't want the other person or the group to know we didn't like the other persons way of running shit.
the rest of the videos up untill second coming im not gonna cover really, but I will get into the members as of now
Cody Gargrave- long time friend of steven laird, cody was basicly the most willing stunt man in the group, he was so fucking crazy in his own ways, we would get our kicks from getting him to eat shit that we had not wanted to look at, and jump off of stuff we didn't want to stand on. cody is one of the funniest but complicated dudes I know, even today I have no real idea of who he is.

Steven Laird- probably one of the most influencial dudes I have or will meet in awhile, even though we grew to hate each other, we were eachothers best friends for quite awhile and really wanted freak.inc to succede more than anything else. probably cause we both never had friends or did anything that ever succeded.

Larry Laird- steven's brother, funny ass mother fucker who gets his kicks from messing with random people and just being funny as fuck, it's so hard to describe this guy in words, but you have to meet him one day.

Dylan Anderson- he has always hated freak.inc but stands it more because we are more popular, he talks shit about us all the time.
Smith: Orginally a fan from school, we found out about him through our first website's forum. He didn't join till Nuggeto was right on the verge of leaving the group. Being a Jew and a Techie Some thought he was a replacement for Nuggeto. But all in all he is a really cool dude.
Jonathan- aaaaaa the group Ninja. Nuggeto first met him in a Medical class in high school, he introduced him to the rest of the group and he was basicly instantly in. This guy is crazy, it is really hard to describe in words his personality but with his mastery of weapons and the matrial arts he made a very valuble member.

Andy Cantu- my brother and probably one of the members of freak.inc that never we never gave a chance to do somthing, he was more a tag along we only recodnized, I still forget somtimes that he wants to do stuff and I just never think to ask him.
and me, im not gonna get into me
okay, after shake it good style, only me and steven actually comprehended how cool that was, cause we were forum nerds, we relized that from all the shit groups that come through the stream of homegrown we actually had people like our video. it was an addiction that we had to feed, we actually started thinking of things to do that would be cool to film.
then it hit, steven's dad was skipping town (because he would have to go to court do to the prank that we pulled earlier that year and he already had 3 dwi's) and they needed a place to stay if they didn't want to be on the run the rest of there life. so they lived with us
big mistake, me and steven already were having problems if I remember correctly and andy was pissed at steven. but we didn't think it would be longer than a month or so that they would be staying. so instead of it being the free for all film fest me and steven were hoping for, it was the first second knife in the freak.inc gut, the first being the whole police thing.
we butted heads, alot. we started the hg faceoff, we filmed, alot, but we quite as well, because we were fed up. the last thing we filmed as freak.inc was our snow sled task. there was even a lost freak.inc video completed that was never released, the homegrown face off, I even shaved "homegrown" in one side of my head and "face off" into the other
all that footage was deleted for 2 reasons
1. I didn't want footage of steven
2. steven didn't want to be in a video of mine
looking back on it I relize it was incredibly stupid and childish. but there is no use crying over what could have been. steven and me both were pissed and did alot of stupid shit killed the only thing that actually brought us toghether creativly.
the group died last year, since then it's been a corpse of loose footage I have found or recently shot, strung together into somthing that reseambles a movie cause I got tired of the whole editing process.
it's kind of depressing really.
