How can I go about making my films become widescreen. Is there a program or something that can save them into widescreen? This can be very useful for skits and such. Thanks

cameras have a wide screen setting, yours should as well just check it

im not gonna lie man, when you came out with the face off remix or what ever it was called (the edited version I gues
) well I dowloaded it first day, but I put it in a folder I rarealy use and forgot all about it2 days ago I was looking through some random folders and found it, I couldn't believe I never watched it, so I did, and I fucking loved it, you should have used alot more of those tasks in your lunatiks mix up, cause there was some quality footage in there
if you posted the version I watched instead of your long ass one I would have voted for it hands down man

aww thanks so much man. We are planning putting our Hunt 3 mixup out soon. And Hopefully you like our ES Faceoff thats coming up soon. It's going to be great.
I'm really shocked you liked our mixup though. Makes me happy Image file not present in the recovered backup

Im pretty sure if you want to be the real widescreen you have to do it while you actually film it but I may be wrong.
I reccomend just clipping the top and bottom at a rate of 15% each...looks close enough..

I wouldn't film in widescreen, just film normally, edit, print back to tape, make widescreen, capture again, voila.

no no no widescreen setting on cameras (unless you have a proo camera) will most likeley just strech the image. your best bet is to either fork out some cash and buy a Anamorphic lens so you can shoot true widescreen or like weak said crop the image a bit.

It's all about aspect ratios. I think widescreen is 16:9.

the ratio depends of what widescreen you are using. Cinema widescreen is differnt to broadcast widescreen thts why even with a widescreen tv you still have a bit of a bar when watching DVD's

Theres a way to do it when editing isnt there? like I kinda remmber on vegas when starrting a new project u could choose your aspect ratio. It must have it on adobe too.

but if you import 4:3 footage using widescreen setting the image will just get streatched out and look horrible

whenever brent films widescreen. I watch them on my comp.and the right side of the screen is fucked up..ne one know how to fix that..I change the video acceleration to low and that works, but then I cant full screen.very annoying

I have a DCR-HC90E - it films in true widescreen. When I import to editing programs, most fuck it all up and force it to 4:3. I got around that in vegas.

Most cameras just put black bars over the 4:3 image to make it "widescreen". Your camera has to actually have a 16:9 sensor to do true "wide screen".
The reason "cinema widescreen" looks different sometimes is because there isn't just a wide screen and full screen - there are different aspect ratios. Look on the back of a DVD box down at the bottom and it'll usually say something like "Ratio 1.78:1", "Ratio 2.38:1" or something like that, that's the aspect it was shot in. It's all about style, and its up to the director of the movie.

I set my camera in widescreen mode but I have a wide angle lens, I find that with the lens the overall picture looks better and if puts the wide screen setting to good use. if you want to see what im talikng about you can just watch our last 20 hunt 3 clips or anything else I put up recently..

get something better than a p3 lol and mabey more than 1mb of ram hahaha, I dont think anyone else has problems with my videos im sure someone would have mentioned it to me..
