Ok, I'm sure there has been a time for all of you when you need some technical assiatance (well maybe not gazaa) but the rest of you anyway.

Don't you just fucking hate it when you get put through to some curry eating half wit on the other side of the globe who can barely speak English or has the most Asian accent that it's totally impossible to understand the waffle he is on about.
Not to mention the 5 minute time delay over the phone line. I was just off the phone to one today and it took me literally 4 mins to give him a 5 digit account number, I had to give out the old police lingo Alpha Bravo 2 zero shit for him to understand.

Anyway, discuss biggrin.gif

I've heard many stories of Dell outsourcing their product support lines to third world countries. Thing is, outsourcing is OK, but not when the people at the end of the phone arn't directly linked to the company at hand, and especially not when the language barrier stops normal communication and the person doesn't know much about even the basics of the Windows OS.

Common problem mate.

Talking to a Scottish person on the phone is worse. No offence but if you aint Scottish you cant hear a word they are saying.

NTL are the worst for this.

LOL non taken but it's the same for me English folk confuse me as well. Especially since my gf is from the North East of England it's kinda hard to know what she's on about lol.

That's why I like companies who use people with a neutral accent.

Yeah it makes more sence to use neutral accents, I was on the phone with NTL because my connection would not register with them. And I always get the same Scottish guy. I had to ask him to repeat everything twice and slowely. Was horrible. I can understand them in person but when its over the phone, pffft fuck that.

Yeah it's worse over the phone. It's weird though, if you watch tv programs from different areas in the country I can understand their accents fine.

Haha! Thing is though, not using potential staff because they don't have a certain accent would be classed as discrimination.

We live in a controversial world biggrin.gif

Word, there are so many bull shit laws that are set so fags wont go crazy and sue. I mean you cant be specific anymore. You want a certain type of person or something but you aint allowed to specify gender, age, race... so on. Its bollocks.

Yes indeed. Apparantly if you go into a coffee shop and want a "black coffee" that's classified as racism and you are supposed to ask for a "coffee without milk". But black people don't even find things like that offensive, it's our ignorant government and pm that believe idiotic things like this will rid the world of self caused terrorism and tension between ethnic minorites and the west.

Like when they said the nursery rhymes had to be changed for racism purposes. "Baa Baa Black Sheep" here has become " Baa Baa Wooly Sheep". And Black boards are considered rasist so its chalk board now but you can still say white bored. Gay...

It seems that the only people making a deal of the difference in races, is the govnerment.

It would be far less an issue, if all these laws wern't in place.
