Well I've decided to wipe my hard drive and start again thanks to numerous viruses and/or scat eating pornography that somehow found its way onto my pc. Anyway, I'm guessing that I'll need the driver for my CD drive, which is an Artec WRR-52Z. However, after searching for ages on the internet, I can't find any valid links for a download. Can someone please help me? Thanks.

I've never known a cd drive to use a driver, unless it's one of windows' own :/

Well I'm guessing when I wipe my hard drive all my drivers will disappear, right? So I won't be able to install WinXP, which is on a CD, without a working CD Drive.

should be fine. I got a whole new hardrive and installed the OS, the cd drive worked fine

When you've formatted, you set the BIOS to 'Boot from CD' so that it will load the installation files from the WinXP cd. No need for CD drive drivers.

Ok fair play biatch. Anyway don't you have a factory settings boot disc to allow you to restore to factory settings rather than install xp again?

To reinstall XP, that is done during the installation. Simply insert the Xp CDROM, navigate to the BIOS and set the CDROM as the first boot device. It will load a screen saying "Press any key to boot from CD" then launch into the XP installation menu. After you've agreed to all the license crap, it should come up with a screen with your partitions on, simply delete all the existing ones, which will leave one partition in the RAW format, hit enter and format with NTFS. After that everything's even simpler.
