DVD Burner or Portable Hard drive?
Looking to back up my dad's desktop as he's a fuck wit when it coems to getting viruses so need a back up method, which do you think is better?

Hmm yeah would make sense. Can you actually make an entire copy of your o/s and all your data onto it as well as all your installations such as broadband etc etc. or can you only back up the data files?

I'd say DVD writer actually. For a start they're cheaper but if you think about it you can fit endless amounts of data on endless amounts of DVD's. That data is always going to be there forever whereas harddrives can only hold a certain amount and will get deleted after a while.
My work is looking into sourcing these new products that are like a jukebox that hold DVDs and CDs and the computer can access them instead of having to dig out the disc then put into the computer.

That makes sense. I'm probs gonna get a DVD burner coz it will allow the desktop to play dvds as well.

Yes, you can make an entire copy of your OS and data with Norton Ghost.

Nah a jump drive is too small. I'll probs get an external HD and if I was so desperate to burn shit onto dvd I can just copy shit over the network onto my laptop and burn it there.

Kalle get a couple ribs removed and you can do it yourself. Image file not present in the recovered backup
