This may have already been thought of I dunno...
But basically to promote HGF I think it would be cool to have a Home Grown Forums mix up, so like, each team submits one or two of their best clips openly in a seperate thread, so that anyone can download them (and of course, use their own) to make their best edit at a Home Grown Forums mix up.
This will then work like the HGF Face-Off, where each editor posts their vids in another seperate thread and there is a poll or something to determine everyones favourite (you cant vote for yourself)
The winning video will then be posted on the index page of HGF, and on everybody's sites to promote the forum to any teams who aren't on it...
How does this sound?
Questions, Ideas, Anything...post here..

Well itl just give some fun oppotuinties to ban people then.....
14 August 2005, 16:39 UTC#4
I think a mixup competition would be cool. seems more like an editing competition though.
14 August 2005, 16:51 UTC#5
Well editing is a big part of it yeh...its basically the majority's favourite...

no one likes competitions

Yeah, I hate the competive side of HG.
Everyone has their own styles, theres no need to see whose better in my opinion.

If everyone hates competitions how comes theres such a hype about the hunt? Image file not present in the recovered backup

spoken like a true pussy
j/k
yeah I like some of the competitions not so much the faceoffs but the other ideas, the only thing I like about comps is that when a good group gets involved I get to see some new footage from them
cept for faceoffs cause then everyone is doing the same thing, but id rather just everyone come out with a new good vid at least once a month and then there would be no need for comps

a differnce thats why
the hunt has been around for ever, even though man groups don't compete alot of good groups go there start in the hunt, all balls
and no mercy got very popular from a clip that was a hunt task, smash through a table, and run through a pane of glass
14 August 2005, 19:52 UTC#12
here a contest they way I would do it cuz groups like BI and FCV get screwed round hunt face off time,
a contest that would show the groups editing, content, and style. no tasks, have each vid be like 20 mins long, it has to all be new fotoage over but have like everyone vote on everything in different sections, like a score of like 1-10 on editing, all originality(editing and movie), over all creativity(editing and movie), , content, and umm maybe music or something, and if you throw down 10 bucks for the prize you get some extra points for helpin out. and have them added up to make and most points gets best video of the year.
calls it like the HGMA's

I like Duran's idea all except for the 20min rule. That's pretty damn long.
Want to organize something like this Duran?
14 August 2005, 19:59 UTC#14
Why doesn't every group just make their own mixup and then have a vote to see which one is the best based on quality, editing, and so on? It would take far less time then d/l other groups vids and then having to edit everything.
14 August 2005, 23:10 UTC#15
What if, just this one time, people would concentrate just doing the thing they do.

well this wouldnt be to hard to organize. I mean if you guys think its a good idea awesome. I just wrote that shit down lol
the hunt must have took a long time. expecially the site coding and all that, paying for hosting. this would be easy jsut the rules and uhh the deadline. poeple incharge of hostin their own shit.
maybe 10-15 mins, I dunno. and have each group allowed to vote once among all the teams, cant vote for your own shit.
I dunno. if alot of groups think this is a good idea lets start plannin
most importantly id want groups to have total freedom other then a time frame of whatever minuites.
