who do you think is the most likely person and homegrown group to become famous or somthing I think for a group all balls maybe the muppets I dunno I havent seen alot from you guys

person: like aaron from my group does everything funny as hell and good

wow your quick and I never seen anything from them but I like those groups and wasnt thinking of more groups they just standed out and what deos spdst stand for?

I myself want to go to Side-show school in Coney Island. Then try to get into some sort of circus education, like Clown College then become a stunt-man...don't really know if I will get any fame though.

id like to see everyone make it including freak.inc, it's like ever garage band you would like to seem them make it but odds are they wont

only dex has his whole heart in the muppets and you can't have a group of half asses if you want to make it

Its not hard to succeed...if you dont have much of a goal...

Alot of groups here arent even going to put out dvds, and the ones that are, most of them arent even going to be having it professionally pressed and arent looking for serious distribution.

So I would say right off the bat 95% of the groups here are eliminated from any chance of gaining fame or serious cash. You have to actually have a dvd, and it has to be out on the market in order for you to get anywhere.

I would say out of every group here, SPDST has the biggest shot at getting somewhere with this shit. I say that because unlike many groups...theyre using broadcast quality cameras. I noticed in their 1st trailer one of them had a boom mic and a shoulder dv cam....which run between 5-10k. So their content is actually watchable and professionaly created. Second, they have experience. Theyve already made 1 dvd, so I think they have their foot in the door...and theyre actually doing what alot of groups say theyre gonna do. Finally..their content...theyre fuckin crazy. Plain and simple.

Personally....I dont think anyone here will get rich or famous. FUTV proved that the market for this shit has died...and they released their video a few years back riding the bumfights wave. Nowadays...its like to little to late. Their video kicked ass, they were on the news, they were popular as fuck, there video should have been a success. At least selling roughly 5,000 copies, which is basically 1/100th of what bumfights was selling. But they didnt even sell a 1,000.

So yeah....if any group could pull it off...it would be SPDST. But I really think any group achieving fame and fortune is out of the question. You would need to come up with a really clever and original idea (ie bangabum biggrin.gif ) before you can even start thinkin about profit.

That made it hard for them to get distribution...but with the ammount of traffic they were getting, they still shouldve sold more copies just through their site..

exactly it's got to be your life to succede these days, cause it's been done before, not nessicarialy the stunts but the concept of it all

thats why SPDST and Retardz are most likley to succed it's there life, they can have fun with there job but it is there job

Personally I think Al (FMS) will go somewhere. You guys just don't know how dedacted to HG he is, it is like it is what he lives for. If we film something that is really painfull or crazy and the footage ends up getting fucked up or the camera angle just isnt right he will do it over, if there is something that everyone else is afraid to do Al will usally be the first to volunteer for it, Al will start editing at about 5:00 pm and I have woke at 4:00 in the morning to find him still editing a video to get it just right. It is this determanation is what I think will carry him a long way, be it in filming or whatever he chooses to do in life.

End of the day that accounts for jackshit.. A DVD isnt going to suceed because it has studio sound or is shot on broadcast quality cameras. A DVD is going to suceed on content and marketability. If the DVD has awesome footage and a good dvd is knocked up with smooth editing this is what will make it.

All FUTV proved was the wrong way to produce a DVD. They proved how to fuck up an awesome production. They made 100 mistakes from the word go. 1st off they breached copyright by using unlicensed music. What distributor is going to take that? The DVD wasnt classifed and marketed well. They used cheap DVD's and inserts. The whole post production process was fucked.

It couldve been a huge sucess if they did things right.

I think there's heaps of groups on here that have massive potential to do something good. Im not talking millions of dollars but if you have good content and get good advice you'd be suprised at what could happen.

I agree, a video needs a combination of things to succeed. And I listed the combination that I think SPDST has.

I mentioned the equipment they use as an example of their professionalism. They use hi quality cameras, along with professional editing equipment.

If bumfights was filmed on hi8 and edited in windows movie maker....I dont think those producers would be where thye are today..

Also, aside from using copyrighted music, I think FUTV was on the right path. I like how on all their dvd sales they inserted a little piece of paper apologizing for the late delivery...and that they had been mentioned on Howard Stern and were swamped with sales. And I like how they put up a fake notice on their site that they were being investigated and shut down by some non-existent interent FBI type shit. They told me how they tried literally every single way of promoting their video, but no one would pick it up. Bumfights stole the spotlight, and then shot out the lights...leaving the competition in the dark.

The only way anyone could possibily make any type of real money would be through a decent distributor, or lots and lots of paid advertising.
