Wireless Microphones

Do any of you guys use hidden microphones? if so where did you get them from? best buy and future shop only have microphones that hook up to cellphones. Any recomendations of where and what I should get?

Yeah, theyre called lavalier mics. They can be a bit complicated, and youll need a camera thats compatiable. Just about every 3ccd camera will work with a lav mic.

You'll need the mic, a transmittor and a receivor. Be prepared to spend quite alot, ill find you some links in a bit.

These are very basic, and probally as good as it will get for someone with a small budget.

From there on your looking at $500+

theres another less expensive way too,if you got a minidisc/mp3 player with a record option you can put it in your pocket and record and put on the sound later.
but it usually sounds pretty shitty

If I were going to do that, I'd hide my old camera in a backpack and use that to record sound from far away.

yeah thats 1 way of doing it for those who wanna avoid large costs.

are there any microphones that record to an alternative source? that you could upload into your computer and then add to the video? cause that method might be cheaper.

Some mp3 players can do that.

We've used minidiscs before with a hidden lappele mic. Then just sync up the sound in editing later.

Sounds fine. Nothing wrong with it.
