Is bumfights unethical? Is it abusive? How come people are entertained by such of a cruelty? I want some serious discussion about this.

I don't think it's unethical, some of the footage people got uptight about was them fuckin with innocent bums, it's not our fault they're homeless. if they wanna get drunk then it's a privilege for us to fuck with them, that's all I gotta say.
I laugh at the misfortune of others. and I'm entertained mainly because it's not happening to me. the end.

I think parts of bumfights is unethical just cause the pure cruelty...but they do bring it on themselves...they are stinky drunk bastards....they could clean themselves up but they dont so it is there fault

But the truth is that alcoholism is a disease. Yeah, you have to make a choice to drink, but there is genes that ease you to get addicted. Once you are addicted, you cant do shit. And because everybody wants just laugh at you, you cant even get any help.

and it does make sense, how could it not? put it this way, is it better to see someone else get made fun of or badly hurt than yourself? it's one of those moments you can't really explain why you laugh, but it's the whole point of having a different sense of humor, some laugh at this joke and get entertained, while others get offended and mad. I usally laugh when it happens to regular people but its just something about bums that makes it not funny.........maby its the fact that to me it seems they are being taken advantage of, and I really don't think it's right.

Yeah, I get what you mean, but I call that feeling relief (when something bad is happening to others, but not you). And yes when stuff goes way over the line the shock value makes people laugh. And imagination about others reaction.

it is weird tho, I laugh at someone throwing a bag of trash on a guy walking down the road, but if it was me I'd be extremely pissed.

Yeah, if somebody would post mixup with stunts that Rufus has done everybody would be "haha, funny" But now it has different reactions. Because they abuse somebody who cant make his own decissions. I think some people find it disturbing since its similar to abusing a child who cant make own decissions either.

I liked bum fights when I watched it, then a documentary came onto uk tv a year after the first release and went back to see rufus the stunt bum and the other one, they are all depressed now and feel used by the kids who made one of them get a tat on his forehead, plus the kids who made the film got screwed out of the money made from the dvd release

I don't agree with the majority of that, I mean if we all started becoming preachers and "do gooders" then we wouldn't have any time or money to enjoy ourselves with. The ability to change is also within the bums. They could clean themselves up in a river and look for a job. Instead they choose to roam the streets.

Read my posts. Its not like bums could do that. Its like saying to cancervictim: "Dude get it right, get it cured and get back to job" Being a bum and a homeless person isnt a decission. Why would somebody decide "Yeah, I want to fuck up my llife and be a bum." Human brain cant do decissions that would harm themselves.
Yeah, you should not be burnout by being a goddamn hippie, but doing some good would not bankrupt us, few minutes a day, few pennies per day would make a big difference.

But I dont get fighting. It just makes me agressive, specially parts where somebody is beaten even when down. Makes me want to kick those guys asses, but then, I dont think I could. Stereoid motherfuckers. And I dont even have a change to try since its just goddamn videotape. Makes me feel powerless and disturbed. Why would anybody continue beating when the other guy is lying helpless on the ground? He has allready won, its jsut pure cruelty.
