Would it be possible?

I was just wondering it were possibe for all of us here at HGF to make our own Homegrown DVD. Like Moody's idea except we do it ourselves, and we all contribute to it in some way, it was an idea that my camera/editing guy Aaron came up with. He has some ideas and knows some ways to put this shit in stores too. It can be another way of getting some of our work out to people.

If we were to make a big dvd like this with all the groups, it would be better to do it ourselfs than let somebody outside the community do it.

If it was to happen, I think every group should edit their own segment. Each segment being around 5-7 minutes. Then all segments are put together in chapters on a DVD.

Thats a good idea..but what if a group puts something crappy in it..who will be the one to decide which segment stays or goes?

I guess we would have a group of people decide wither or not a clip would be on the DVD.

I think it can be done, if we all work together...my friend Aaron had some good ideas on how to make this happen. We both think that this would be good for the community.

Sending each teams clip in wouldnt work because for a dvd...the quality would have to be perfect...so teams would have to send there clips on a cd by post to whoevers putting the dvd together...

Yeah.. There needs to be one group / person that recieves all the footage and pretty much does everything, having everyone all over the world is a bitch. I would submit if this happened, but I think all the clips should be edited by one person, it would end up looking really unprofessional otherwise..

man I don't have shit to do if you send your edited clips to me ill hold them and kick out the shit ones

or you could put webby in charge then you would know all the clips kicked ass

Mabye we can just post the clips we would want to choose for it and someone will determine if it is shit or not.

Yeah, this idea came up so many times at ckf and nothing ever happend. Its really hard for everyone to agree on the same thing.

imo the DVD needs to be done by one person so it flows well and the editing is consistent. As a few have said it would look shit otherwise. It is a massive job to do something like this, especially if there's heaps of groups involved sending in raw footage.

I think its a good idea and would like to see it happen none the less though.

would be a great idea if it takes off, I reckon it would sell quite a bit aswell becuase it would be a mix of like all types of homegrown stuff like some groups are more into pyro stuff and some use cars or jumping etc. but what are the chances of it taking off ?? becuase I know people were talking abuot a UK meetup but ive heard nothing else about it

I could edit and put it together if I´de get the raw footage. But distribution isnt my thing....

We would need the leadership of an admin or mod like webb,dex,mono,made ect... someone who doesnt slack and can make an unbias decision about the quality of a segment as well as it's placement. THC would most likley be down to film for it and I say that because joe has already mentioned that he likes the idea. all the groups with websites would have to sell it on their site. if this were to happen it would be awsome!! and I think vode would be an exelent choice for an editor! and help for dristrobution could be given by some of the groups that have sold dvd's before
