Lots of Homegrown groups have made a full length movie or two.
Which groups have made a movie ?
Which movies have you seen ?
Which do you own ? (I know marc owns many)
The reason why I want to know is that we(Rip/Off) feel that we have more than enough material to make our first movie and im wondering how long it will take to edit, distribute etc. ?
Just post any experiences that you had making your movie !
What was fun ? What sucked balls ? What was hard ? What did you use for editing etc. ? Did you burn(make) all the DVD's yourself ? Who did you sell it to ? How many copies did you sell ?
I wanna know eveything... so take some time of your busy schedule and write !

id buy the rip/off dvd. im geussin it would take few months of hard editing to finish

The BTD/DVD is done. Took me a long time to make.
Putting the DVD together even took me a day or so too...menus and songs etc...

Yeah, I would also like some info.... All I know is im making all my parts of the DVD seperately then, merging them.

We've made one video so far. It was in 2001. We used Adobe Premiere 6.0 to edit. We exported it out to a Mini DV tape and we used that as the master copy to dub to about 30 VHS tapes. We sold all 30 for $6.00 each.
The editing was worse part, because the computer fucked up near the end and something to the hard drive. It cost $300 to salvage what video we could from the broken hard drive.
Selling it was the best part. It was awesome that people were actually willing to buy our video and spend an hour watching it. Actualy..most people who bought said they watched it over and over a couple times. Some people who didnt buy a copy would all go over to a friends to watch it over the weekend and stuff like that. Nothing was greater than the feedback we got. It was a constant "what the fuck" and "no way, you didnt do that". We sold all 30 copies through pre-sale. People paid us a month up front, which was awesome.
I'm in the process of editing the WS/FUKT DVD. I'm using Adobe Premiere 6.0 still, this time it's me editing it. I filmstrip all the video that I want to use effects on. It's tedious, but the result is professional and awesome-looking editing.
When I'm finished I'm going to pay to have the film professionally authored, replicated, and cased. I'm not taking any shortcuts, and I'm going to pay every dollar that I have to to get it done. End of blog.

All Balls made a move way back in the day when we first started, but it was shit haha, total cky/bam ripoff. so we dont even consider that one of our productions.

it works well when you want to use multiple layers in video editing. Some people use after effects, I prefer photoshop.

EVIL-WEBBY has like every stunt movie ever made...
were probably gonna make a few... but the will probably be vhs because its easyer and less expencive... but we will probably only sell them around here.

it depends on the quanity. The more you buy, the less they charge per copy.
IE - It would be like 100 copies at $2.50 a copy, or 500 copies at $2.00 a copy.
I dont really remember, but I believe you can get a 1,000 copies made for around $1.60 a copy. So that's $1600. Personally, I think were gonna have around 5,000 copies made...depending on how many our distributor can push.

That sounds core ! I hope they have deals that gives you like 500 and an option for 500 more or something like that... I seriously dont think were gonna need more than 100. Hope the prizes are somewhat the same here...
Where do you find firms that do this kinda stuff ? What should you look for ?

search google for "dvd duplicaton". In the US, you can look up companies in your phonebook in the yellow pages under something like video services.

you should get the Almost Illegal series. I havent seen the 2nd one, but the 1st one was pretty good. Had a nice mixture of tits, drugs, and fights.
