So you're like a Russian Swede who lives in Denmark?
I guess. Fucking everything in sight is the key to a happy family.

just started my final self negotiated project for uni with 2 weeks left :\
I'm planning on producing a small zine, here's the front page.
External image not preserved — inspect source: http://i43.tinypic.com/2wh137t.jpgreally nice mate, loving the illustrations and love the cover, atleast the bottom 3/4 part, you really need to work on the top part, as a whole it doesn't feel right imo yet, there's too much empty space on the right top, not saying this should all be filled of course but the arrangement overal can really be approved.

Mono, do you use some kind of organic/eco paper (dunno the correct term in english but non-bleached I guess?) to get that effect on your drawings after you've touched them up with photoshop? Like scan a sheet of paper and work on from that? I might not be explaining this all too well but I'm talking about the retroish overall look of the work with all those tiny dots all over the piece..
edit: Also you have an original style to draw I must say. My biggest problem has always been that I end up copying parts of something subconsciously
21 May 2009, 18:01 UTC#5,195
AFAIK Ben the dots are just a textured overlay added in PS or Illustrator, not the paper.
21 May 2009, 18:32 UTC#5,196
How disappointing

I would do all those kinds of effects mechanically. But that's probably because I can only do the most basic things with PS

edit: also is AFAIK internet slang for something or is it just a way of saying 'the fuck?'? I feel so left out

21 May 2009, 19:42 UTC#5,197
its nerd for As Far As I Know lol
21 May 2009, 19:44 UTC#5,198
damn m0n0 I love your art style.
wanna see how the zine looks as a final product as well, you gonna add illustrations inside?
21 May 2009, 19:46 UTC#5,199
Nice, I'm gonna be hip as flip next time I hit the discos.
23 May 2009, 18:22 UTC#5,200
Because I'm a fanboi and can do basic PS work, I entered the tour merch contest. It's supposed to look like a traditional post card and would come in some form on the tour shirts. Shame I can't really fulfill my vision because my PS skills only take me this far..

23 May 2009, 18:28 UTC#5,201
That reminds me of "Burnout Paradise" Ben. lol
23 May 2009, 19:20 UTC#5,202
Haha, I have to google it. Completely unintentional though because I seriously didn't look at anything in particular while doing that. The goal was just to create a retro postcard. But let's see

edit: the idea for the boardwalk or the pier just comes from the song 'Boardwalk Body' on the Carver City album
23 May 2009, 19:31 UTC#5,203
Well I like it, definatly has the retro feel, good luck with it man.

24 May 2009, 07:28 UTC#5,204
is this one better than answer?
24 May 2009, 08:00 UTC#5,205
I need to give it a few more listens before I can answer. The majority think so though.
edit: it sounds a lot different than Answer. Much more layered and busy than CKY has ever sounded, I'm still trying to figure out if I prefer it or not.
24 May 2009, 08:03 UTC#5,206
cky is evolving but I don't like were they went with answer.
even if they drop some less than awesome albums I bet they'll break into the mainstream and do some epic shit eventually.

Made a panoramic pinhole photograph for my 'experimental' module at uni.

Loads of people at the exhibition loved it. Was so pleased when no one could comprehend how I made it.

25 May 2009, 20:51 UTC#5,210
How did you do it?
25 May 2009, 20:54 UTC#5,211
External image not preserved — inspect source: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/d/d3/Two_Rolls.jpgGot 110 film rolls and added a pinhole:

Made it into a pinhole camera with some electrical tape. Sent off for developing and got digital copies then edited them together.
Really didn't wanna lose the effect it had so didn't touch the colours in the edit.
25 May 2009, 20:55 UTC#5,212
looks like he took a pic thorugh a peep hole.
or used a bunch of little dots to compose a pic.
