I like Nirvana, but I agree that the only reason they label him a legend is because he died and such and all the drama.

I like Nirvana alot...but I dont think he is musical genious.

Independent filmmaker Gus Van Sant made a movie loosely based on Cobains life. Its called Last Days. Looks pretty good.

I have to agree Gazaa. The only song I would say is "great" is Smells like teen spirit. The rest are pretty average. Andl like alot of dead famous people, they are only perceived as "great" once they're dead.

lol I actually think I need to get a hidden cam and start some shit with my buds

I have 2 best friends both die hard nirvana fans and I always give them shit about exactly that, that kurt kobain would suck a dick for some heroine no matter how rich he was and if he didn't kill himself he would have just been another base head junkie

but I actually like nirvana but like the beatles they are over rated

so agreed I hate the beetles and kurt is known as a legend because him and his band put the final stomp down on 80s metal and brought up the new era of grunge rock. the fact he died in the heart of their rise was what stunned the world and set him as a legend wether I agree or not I dont know but him and his band def created the grunge rock scene

Nirvana, Nirvana, Nirvana... I discovered Nirvana at the young age of 11. I was sitting on the couch watching Vh1 with one of my friends and “Smells Like Teen Spirit” came on, honestly it was the greatest thing I’d ever heard. No song has ever really gave me that same feeling, but I was fucking 11. My mom wouldn’t let me buy the album because she knew Kurt Cobain hat shot himself, so until 8th grade when I bought every album, starting with “Nevermind” of course, I had only known “Teen Spirit”, but it was the greatest album I had ever listened to. Every song was amazing. I didn’t watch TV or play video games, all I did was listen to that album and all the other albums. I thought Kurt Cobain was a genius and a tragic hero, I worshiped him and thought suicide had to be the coolest thing ever. Fortunately when you get older, you’re not as retarded.

Everyone goes on about how Kurt Cobain is the best lyricist ever and he was the leader of “Generation X”, when really he was just a decent musician, his lyrics really aren’t anything more than things that sound deep, but really don’t mean anything, just strange little one-liners that he put into songs, but that’s what the people made him, I don’t know if he held himself in such high-esteem.

Nirvana was like a stepping stone to not liking just any old music, it made me laugh at hair metal, and hate rap music not only because it sounded shitty, but because of what it stood for. Kurt Cobain taught me to hate things like the homophobic macho-man, and the KKK. I still like Nirvana’s music I guess, I don’t really listen to it much, but I’m not really in a “omg I couldn’t live without music” stage right now. So, yes Kurt Cobain and Nirvana are overrated, but I still love them because even though I’ve broadened my musical taste and learned to love other bands, I just don’t like them as much as I liked Nirvana.

Dude I was like an obsessive Nirvana fan I knew Kurt Cobains views on everything. He had a big thing about hating the KKK, he has drawings in his journal (I never bought that shit), of them dying horrible deaths. He always spoke out against them and racist rednecks, because he grew up in Aberdeen, a shitty redneck town.

Nirvana we're definatly over rated, and it's annoying when people put him up on a pedastool saying he was so amazing...yeh some of their music is good, but the guy got famous, gained millions of fans, then killed himself...nice example to his fans there.

nirvana is rated by all the wannabes you see 7 year olds with nirvana hoodies on but when you ask them a song they on no, smells like teen spirit which I would say the song does have the work of a musical geniouise

You can't expect him to live just for them.

thats not what I meant, it's just one of the reasons why I cant understand peoplpe idolising him.
