I use both pretty much evenly. Desktop mainly for editing because it's more comfortable. Laptop for internet and shit.

I have both, use laptop more regularly, laptops kick ass for portability but they burn up way too easily.

Depends, I have quite a new laptop, I have left it on for a month without turning it off before and it didn't overheat

Well my laptop is only 7 months old, and I swear you could fry an egg on its under side. I've already mentioned the fan is probably fucked, although that "hair dryer" effect has calmed down a bit. I opened it up, but no dust. Image file not present in the recovered backup

Thats weird, take it back to the shop and complain. Its not normal for a modern day laptop to overheat that easily unless it really is the fan which is fucked..in which case you should get a new one ASAP.

Got a laptop at the moment. Would never go back to Desktop.
Having a laptop and having wirless in your house is too good. Just being able to go anywhere in the house or out and be able to work or surf is fucking fantastic.

Desktop, I couldnt imagine editing or doing graphics on a laptop, but I'm sure it'd suck.

I use both, if im tired ill just sit in bed with a laptop, but mainly desktop.
