My budget is $400 roughly.
I've got lots of old Digital8 tapes that I have yet to capture, but I really want a new miniDV. They're the way of the future and shit.

Tell me which camera you'd pick, I'm thinking more towards a sony, but you guys all have tried different cameras and would know what's best.

I had a mini-dv samsung like a year ago, it was a good camera and it was cheap as fuck. I think it was an scd-23. Sadly, my 1 year old nephue broke it. Yes, I was an uncle at age 14.

I never have had a sony but I have wanted one
panasonic has always worked for me, it has messed up a bit but I have had some pretty nasty falls onto concrete with it so I think it is holding up relativly well
if you can go for sony, but panasonic is quality as well

no thats the only problem, besides that it's awsome but it dosn't show up well in low lit situations

Yeah, I'm always out at night, so I think I'm gonna go with a sony. My old camera had awesome nightshot so I could film in really dark situations.

yeah I know anderson's cam has an awsome night show and it's jvc but sony whips it's ass in every category
I need a new cam as well cause all the good stuff happens at night for us

You have to to change any of the options. There's no buttons on the inside of the lcd screen, it's all on the touch screen. I guess I'll just take really good care of it though.
