Presuming previously I exported at highest quality, footage was 2GB per 10 minutes, So, a 1 hour Dv tape would take 12GB if exported at the best quality.

I think 1 sec is like 25mb so that would be around 9gb per hour?

miniDVs are good because you can just buy new ones when you run out of space...and are good backup devices....
what happens with these ?

if your talking about the camera which I think you are, instead of having tapes you just save it to the hard drive built in the camera.

Good point, but there is so much space on them I don't think you'll run out of room in one filming session.

yeah but it's good to keep the original tapes, just in case your comp hdd fucks up and lose all your data...
