Boys Deadly Game
TWO teenagers have been arrested after police said youths filmed a potentially fatal game of "chicken" on a busy main road.
Motorists were forced to swerve to avoid a teenager who was dodging rush-hour traffic close to the Anchor Pub, Blackburn Road, Darwen, officers said.
Police seized a video camera and arrested a 16-year-old boy on suspicion of committing a public order offence.
A second boy, aged 13, was arrested in connection with an offence of causing a danger to road users.
Police believe the game of "chicken" could be the latest incident connected to the Live Now Die Later website, inspired by the MTV stunt show Jackass.
It was shut down last month after police confiscated computer and filming equipment and arrested another 16-year-old juvenile from Darwen in connection with an offence of assault.
Officers believed that youngsters logging onto the website, which showed youngsters setting their hair on fire, sticking nails in their forehead and being run over, may be responsible for on-going nuisance in Darwen.
The teenagers were released on police bail until June 26 after being arrested at around 7pm on Friday.
Inspector Dave Mangan said: "We believe this latest stunt could be linked to the Live Now Die Later website because it happened in the same area of Darwen that previous incidents have occurred, by the nature of the incident and the fact it was being filmed, and the age of those taking part.
"Witnesses said they saw a youth playing chicken with cars in Blackburn Road while another youth was filming him on a video recorder. Officers seized the video camera and we will need to get technical staff to look at it to see what is on the footage."
The Live Now Die Later (LNDL) website was blamed for a "jumping through flames" prank which left 11-year-old Joe Armstrong, of Tunnel Street, Darwen, in hospital with serious burns last year.
The old website address now directs people to a page which says: "LNDL.net is shut down `til further notice" and displays a photograph of the Lancashire Evening Telegraph story about police closing it down.
That was me, I got arrested for filming...
a night in a police station and a 3 week ban from the town that I go to on weekends and holidays.
EDIT: And we wernt even playing chicken on a main road, I filmed a fat lad run after his bus, because he runs weird Image file not present in the recovered backup
