I've only ever had two camcorders, both sony, and they have both been superb,

with the touch screen, it does get a few fingerprints on, which are a nightmare to get off, other than that, they are great biggrin.gif

Get the sony and a firewire man. Firewire cards arent too expensive and usb quality does suck...

But the quility = huge sizes...like 130MB for a 40 secound clip and eats up your space on your pc blink.gif

I have tha touch screen sony and firewire the file sizes are quite large in raw avi format but u can compress them to xvid and take it from 500mb to like 60mb and you dont lose much quality all u need is virtuladub and k-lite's codec pack. its as easy as 1,2,3

Analogue camara's are so "in" these days. If you're feeling slightly like being a geek who wants new shit, get one of those awesome HI8 cams, with analogue TV outputs.

Get the sony, and a firewire capture card / cable, and an extra hard drive. And back up all your footage to dvds every now and then. That's what I do, it takes ages but it's pretty handy

Sony Cam HC21

Sony Cam 32

Sony Cam 42

What is the difference?

Price For Each Is :

HC21 - $400

HC32 - $500

HC42 - $600 on sale for $500 where im buying it.

What should I get? Keep in mind, I still gotta buy a Firewire PCI Card which is about $35 and Cables which are about $30. I didn't wanna spend this much money but it will be better than Hi8 cam. Atleast I hope. What cam should I get to save money? Would I notice a difference in quality from HC21 and HC42?
