How does this rate compared to the cameras you're using? I'm planning on buying one of these in a few weeks, been using a Canon ZR-85 and a Canon ZR-90. This, Sony Handycam DCR VX1000, was the camera of choice for skaters about a year ago or so

It prices between 500-700 USD

You have to have an HD television to actually notice the picture quality improvement. On a SD television...the 1080i HD footage would look just like shit filmed with a vx2100.

And since only like 1% of the population owns HD TV's...its not really worth the money. And if your buying it for its 24p feature...dont. Its not real 24p...if you want real 24p you gotta buy the Panasonic DVX100.

Im not really into whole new wave of HD cams...I know they are gonna be really popular in years to come..but to me theyre just like the short-lived MicroDv phase. Waste of money.

I was gonna buy one..but then I did some research on em.
