He's got a great team behind him, and there's usually some form of trickery involved in everything he does, So I wont necessarily believe him when he does tell us how he did it, unless he just admits he fooled everyone. WHich I think he probably will as if he could really predict the lottery he would be so fucking rich that he wouldnt bother making tv shows, he'd be too busy running his own island.
I think those balls were alot more than just hollow ping pong balls to say the least.
he said in an interview once he didnt want to use his gift/power or whatever to take advantage of systems like this, or like when he went to the horse race and pretended he had the winning ticket etc.
Dont believe everything you read.

He doesn't really even exist, it's the thought of him existing that tricks you to think that he exists so he can trick you into believeing that he exists. He's that good.

Could all the balls have been "green screen"? Or the side of the picture with the balls on been covered up by a shot of them earlier then someone come on and write on them, if that makes sense?

No. I re-watched the footage and what you saw was really what happened. It stayed on the same shot, and the balls never went out of sight. One thing that I did notice was that every time the number was mentioned on the real lottery, the camera shook left and right a bit, which I thought might be covering something up. I still think those balls had some sort of lcd display, or a way in which they were wirelessly programed to display the right number as the numbers were drawn on the lottery. And perhaps when camera shake was to cover up slight mechanical movements in the balls themselves.

Hmmm, I guess. Camera trickery, or some technological way don't really seem his style though. He's more about psychological techniques and mind trickery and shit....maybe he didn't get them right but he's mass hypnotised us all to believe he has haha, or maybe the lottery never exsisted and he's just amde us think it has been around for years :O

Derren Brown is amazing Ben I suggest you download some of his stuff. He is an illusionist and never claims to be anything more. He uses psychology and slight of hand to do gain what he wants.
He is banned from every casino and race track in the UK because he cam make people pay him £1000's with just any ticket off the floor.
I suggest Trick or Treat, where the participant either picks a trick or treat without knowing their choice.
Some include a guy being put into a zombie game, making a woman a world champion poker player, making people rob security trucks with subliminal messaging, kidnapping a woman bounding her and dropped into a lake.
Oh and he made a girl kill a cat.
is this the guy who hypnotized a dude and woke him up in morocco?

yeah. In a photo booth.

Then I concur. He is awesome.
10 September 2009, 21:29 UTC#39
Just watched it again.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WVOuKZA4_CMI'm pretty sure the first 4 clips were pre-recorded. Up untill they cut back to the main camera after we see the wide shot for second time. Because Im pretty certain that the camera is on a tripod from there on out. The movements from left to right are irritating and unprofessional but I reckon they deliberately did it to mimic the look of hand held footage, as from the wide we can clearly see there is no tripod, and the camera is just being operated by a guy.
If from the point I mentioned onwards the program was filmed on a tripod, then it is easily possible that they just used motion tracking, and matted out someone sticking the correct numbers on the balls themselves, and then took the matte away when Derren walks up to the balls to spin them round.
Also what he said about not being legally allowed to show the balls before the draw is bollocks, as anyone is allowed to make a guess at the lottery numbers on tv, its just a guess.
10 September 2009, 21:31 UTC#40
Isn't that what I said? Then you said it wasn't?!!?! STOP TAKING CREDIT FOR MY IDEAS!!!
But, I really hope it isn't something shitty like that.
10 September 2009, 21:38 UTC#41
Pretty much exactly what you said. But that would have been impossible if it had actually just been one handheld cameraman which was we saw in the wide. This is why I think the first four shots were pre recorded, plus Im very confident that the camera was on a tripod.
11 September 2009, 02:30 UTC#42
I think he really figured it out.
11 September 2009, 03:10 UTC#43
lucky guess tbh
11 September 2009, 15:42 UTC#44
we will soon find out.
12 September 2009, 00:25 UTC#45
Dear Derren Brown. I enjoyed being entertained on Wednesday with your prediction of the lottery. I also enjoyed working out how you did it, which I posted on my FB status. I tuned into your program today looking forward to hearing you prove me right, but for some reason I found myself listening to your bullshit. Please rectify this immediately. As I cant be arsed to wait for someone from your team to leak the truth.x
12 September 2009, 10:41 UTC#46
I liked it mainly because it proved everyone wrong who thought it'd be some shitty camera trick.
12 September 2009, 10:45 UTC#47
couldn't care less.
NEXT WEEK WILL BE SICK.

Dude he did it my way.
Then just did what he did with those people to fool unintelligent people into thinking that thats possible. He only needed 5 plants in that team of people to do the calculations, and always make sure they wrote the correct number down (as they always did it after the lottery was drawn)
Those poor people actually thought they predicted the lottery, and didnt even get to win anything.

NOT YOUR WAY!!! It's the way EVERYONE (except those who think it's real) thinks he's done it lol.
I just hope these bullshit explanations are all part of something bigger that he's doing for this series.
