Portable Lcd For Camcorder?

basically I want a 10-15" screen that I can view in either 4:3 or 16:9 that I can connect to my VX with its own battery power pref...

anyone out there got a portable screen?

I was meant to get back to you about this. Really dont know the market for these at all, so other than googling it I would have no idea. Just stay away from the LCD monitors from B-Hague. I own one, and it sucks.

didnt even know you could get them, would be good for the cameras I have with broken LCD screens, do most of them work for minidvcams?

thought about it
but I usually just wait till I get home to watch it, becasue vx1k play back is always glitchy

btw Zaid. The biggest your likely to get is around 8/9 inch screen. They dont really go a huge amount bigger for LCD camera displays and on average its about 7.5 inch, and these are on big cameras. Dont forget what camera your attaching it to. You clamp a 9 inch display to your vx, and it will almost be as big as the camera, and it's going to make it less balanced when operating.

I am presuming you mean an LCD monitor that clamps to the camera.

If your talking about a feild monitor for you to view whilst someone else is filming then I can help you alot more.

The first question you need to answer is what video outputs you have on the camera, and how you plan to lug it (mounting, which we would need to know mounting options, or lugging).

If your mounting like Dex said 10-15" is way too big.

These types of lcd's do exist, but before I spend time looking around I'll wait for the output information.

And what EBJustin said about what video/audio outputs do you have on your cam, is a very good point. S-video is usually out of the question with these kind of monitors. So I'm guessing your best bet is component Out/In

I was thinking clamp, 7" sounds fine lol

but would love info on feild monitors because they were my first thought but didnt really no where to start.

just depends on cost of both really too.

A decent feild monitor will be around 300-600 quid. If thats in your price range Ill send you some links to models.

ah right.. think thats bit out my price range atm.. might stick with a lcd ontop of the cam

that one linked to ebay looked pretty good. Dex check your fb messages.. sent u some stuff
