This morning I woke up and went to capture some footage from yesterday and my macbook decided that it doesnt wanna recognize my camera. Its been fine to just plug and play till now.
I've restarted the mac and the camera a good few times, unplugged and reconnected all the cables but nothing seems to work, the camera knows when its plugged in as the I.Link logo shows up and the mac knows something is plugged it but just says 'Unknown Device' in system profiler, but I cant seem to make it recognize that its a camera to capture the footage. I dont really wanna to cap it on my pc as that means capping in DV instead of HD
Any suggestions?

Press the reset button on the camera and reboot the Mac and try again.
Also, you made sure the camera is in Play/ Edit, right?

Yeah, play/edit mode, most of the time if it wont recognize my hc3, or hc1 its the firewire

My Macbook wouldn't recognize Nick's HV30 in Premiere Pro CS4, so I just used iMovie to capture.

I haven't been able to get a copy yet because I fail at torrents. Officially being enrolled in the Radio/TV program at my school now, I can get a copy when classes start.

I've never really used FCP, but I did check it out one day on an iMac at school. It seemed to be set up a lot like Premiere.

Yeah isn't it just the Premiere for Mac? CS4 has so many decent plug ins I prefer it so much more than FCP.

How do you "convince" it. --------I just plug and unplug my cam for so long that it regs it, sometimes it tkes like 200 plugins....
