I think he owes the bumfights creators for pushing him to improve his life.

No offense, Chris, but that was really not in any way the objective the Bumfights producers had. They exploited him, that's all.

Not that I'm defending either party or anything. But, to attribute Rufus' sobriety and improved circumstances to anything done intentionally by them is wrong. They didn't want to help him, they wanted to make an entertaining dvd.

If they had never done anything, he'd probably be doing the same shit. My only point is that they did more good than harm over time since it opened so many eyes and showed more people care than they thought.

Most homeless people got that way from making bad choices so its entirely their fault whether they, you, or anyone else admits it or not.
