Has anyone had any experience with any? My roommate recently got one, the Glidecam Pro 2000, and I'm having the hardest time balancing this thing. So frustrating.

a friend of mine actually built one himself he says it works amazingly. I know that doesnt have any impact on your problem, but eh

Ive operated a Glidecam before. Cant recall the model but there pretty shit, and are pretty hard to balance. Unless it has a dual spring mechanism in the arm (which the lower end glidecams dont have) then its pretty much useless.
Ive got a floatcam v9.
Awesome rig, very similar to a steadicam flyer.

The sample vids of that thing Slavin posted are pretty impressive so it should be pretty good for it price. There is also other DIY steadicams that seem to be pretty good, one can find instructions through google. I´ve been meaning to make one myself.

The 'thing' in the chinkys hand on that link is not a steadicam. That will not work like a steadicam.

I have an awesome Ebook that teaches you how to build homemade cam mounts.
It has like 3 different steady cams, a car hood mount, a jib, a balloon-based crane, a sandbag mount, and a whole bunch of other shit. It's extremely detailed with lots of images and total material lists. A very well put together book.
