All Balls Video

So I thought I had made a thread about it, but I guess I just told people I'm close with.

There will not be an All Balls Video DVD.

Before I get thrown into the stereotypical pile of groups who hype DVDs, don't make them, and then disappear forever, give me a second to explain everything.

I have made several attempts at editing the movie, as well as different approaches. In the end, I just can't produce something I'm proud to put my name on and spend money to produce and release. Some of the stunt and skating footage I have is top-notch, but at the same time there are a lot of things that fall short, and I'm not willing to put out a movie that isn't gold from top to bottom. Whenever I originally started filming, it was just for my friends and I to watch over and over to remember the good times we had. A majority of the footage that is priceless to me and my friends isn't always necessarily material other viewers want to see, and so I have come to a conclusion that should leave everyone happy in the end.

At the moment I'm trying to get a simple new website up (see other thread) so that I can release clips constantly; all the footage I've ever filmed. Some posts will obviously not be grade A footage, but nonetheless something enjoyable. Doing this will more than likely bring in more revenue than DVD sales would have (MTV has emailed me about purchasing some whack ass clips I had online before), as well as bringing a wider viewership to our videos.

Sorry to anyone who was actually looking forward to a DVD, but hey, you'll see all the footage eventually anyway.

I can pretty much relate to everything you said. I really want to put out a DVD but I'm such a perfectionist so I don't think it would ever meet my standards. I just criticize my work too much. Having a DVD to add to the collection would be nice, but I can see where just upping it straight to web could be more beneficial.

Another thing in my case is that some of our funniest footage involves Logan who is pursing a government related career. I don't want to put something out there that could ruin any job opportunities for him, but leaving his footage out would definitely subtract from the overall entertainment.

Sigh...

never thought of editing an all killer dvd for retail and then making a personal dvd with all your favorite stuff that you and your friends can watch? that sorts out both problems right?

Make an entirely YouTube based release. Like all clips n ting.

well...in afew years once you've released all your webedits and no one can be botherd with the site anymore it will go offline.

who will remember allballs? the people who say "wish they made a DVD" it was that yates kid who said No because he cant perfect his editing.

It'll all be out by the end of this year, probably before then actually. I can only hope you enjoy all the clips =)
