Video Mics

I'm just about to order a video mic and I'm stuck between 2

The RODE STEREO VIDEO MIC



and the Rode Videomic camcorder shotgun microphone



anyone know anything about these?

I will put me monees on Yates in this thread, he knows this shit. And vode knows practically anything that has to do with a camera as well.

is there away to stop the end of the mic from going into shot? I remember a pic you uploaded somewhere a while back and you could see the end of the mic...

You can get adaptors to get it mounted in the hotshoe but I cant remember where. If you can be arsed to do it you certainly can, but I guess thats the area of its buttfuckery.

mke-300, never had any experience with rode really, but I know I love my mke.

what lens are u using? mine only comes into the shot when I throw on an extremely wide fisheye. baby death on my hc1 it will show up.

I have to point out that Rode Videomic is pretty long as well. So it could be a problem if you have really wide lens. I would check the measures from the internet and check with a stick or similar if it will show up.

Also Videomic and setereo videomic are in different pricerange. So if you dont have lot to spend I recommend videomic. If you have more to spend I would recomend MKE 300 as its near the price of stereo rode, but should be better.

I think the only difference with the two yuou posted is that other one is mono and other one is stereo
