Heya. Far fetched, but I need to summarize a book for a course regarding something IT related, and I suggested to my teacher that I'd do that about a book on either video or still image editing.
I know most of you are DIY guys who've just worked your way through to becoming self taught heroes, but does anyone have any knowledge or any tips about books that are about either field? I'm not talking about PS or Premiere manuals or tuts that just show how you do a bunch of things, but books that describe editing as a whole on a more theoretical level.
Any help is appreciated boyos

You use google books Ben? A lot of books my library hasn't got at uni are on there... And if you want access to my online library I'll send you my pass and username if you'd like?

Haha love you guys. Don't know really if my professor is okay with electronic books, I'd have to ask him first, but I'll keep that in mind, I'm not much of a reader on a computer either. I might just end up buying a used copy on amazon and selling it to some other douche once I'm finished. Thanks for the suggestions and keep them coming <2

But isnt e-books electronic versions of normal books? So it should okay? Its the same book, just in another medium?

Yeah, but I don't know how my professor relates to literature that lies behind Sam's password on his school server. He'd probably want to take a look at it himself, and even if it would exist somewhere else I dunno. My main problem with e-books is reading them on the computer screen, which in my case wouldn't go well at all. I would read 1½ sentences and then I'd have to go on to HGF and refresh the portal before I could pick up from where I was haha

http://www.amazon.com/Nonlinear-Field-Guid...5638&sr=1-1Incredible book. This was my textbook for my video editing class at uni.
Teaches you everything there is to know about linear and nonlinear video editing. It even goes extremely in depth about the video signal (colors, what it is comprised of, etc). There's so much fucking information you in here you could never take it all in. Some of it is a bit outdated, but it's more than enough, and has plenty of data on HD video.
Also, it's fucking cheap.
