Won't transfer or play audio. Via firewire or AV. Not even older tapes that I know work. Video works fine, audio on computer works fine. I don't think theres a setting to turn off the audio output?

Does audio playback on camera and show levels? Sounds like an import problem with your editing software. Maybe you've turned off capture audio by accident?

weird, maybe your input jack for headphones dont work
if the mic works, and your audio bar is moving, then I dont see whats wrong
vx1k's are old, but.. there bound to have there tech glitches
keep messin with it till you fix sometihing
