As far as Brand goes, I haven't had an obscene amount of exposure to him as you seem to have had. But, from what I've gathered, he seems to be very self-aware of his douchey apparel, attitude, and faux-machismo. I think that's part of his charm. He's aware that he's a cunt, and he relies on bad reactions to him to further establish that fact.

It'd be different if he acted oblivious to his obvious character flaws.

There was another BGT that made me proper rage, it was basically this guy doing a Michael Jackson dance routine to his own mix of Billie Jean. Now, fair play, he was absolutely quality, no faults in his dancing; but they did this bit where a guy dressed as a janitor walked on stage, to "interrupt", they got in a fight, before he tore off his overalls and joined in.

What proper got to me was the way ALL the judges and Ant and Dec were all like "z0mg what just happened this is so surprising" when it clearly wasn't. The dude had to walk between the presenters to get on the stage, and when he picked the fight with the dancer he would have got bumrushed by security right away. And they just kept repeating how it was so random and crazy and what a surprise when it obviously obviously had been all planned and verified with the producers and shit ages beforehand. So stupid.
