Sleepaway Camp

Has anyone seen this film? I'm pretty sure I've seen Ben talk about it. Anyways, I watched it for a horror film class I'm taking and had to write a paper about gender issues in the film, so this movie has been my life for the past two weeks or so. For those who've seen it, I wanted to know what ya thought?

It's a pretty generic 1980s slasher film, but the ending is beyond fucked. Don't feel as if you have to watch the whole film before you watch the ending. It's definitely standalone scary.

Pretty interesting.

Ben upped Return to the sleepaway camp to vip. It was nice little slasher with funny cliches and very creative death scenes. If the "twist" is the same in this one that it is on the sequel, its pretty, eh, interesting.

But just started to torrent this.

Yeah, Ive seen it. I always thought the ending was more stupid than anything, but I guess thats just me.
I watched one of the sequels and liked it though.. Dont remember which though, since theres like... 4 sequels.

I remember renting this with my sister when I was younger but damn, I just clicked the "Ending" link and seen it and it actually freaked me out. Her face for some reason is stuck in my head.

I haven't seen the 2nd and the 3rd part (I've heard they're not worth watching), and tbh it's over a year since I saw this one, but what's distinctive in the first and the fourth one are the original kills. Return to Sleepaway Camp especially had some badass ones. But yeah the ending is kind of disturbing in the first one. The whole vibe of the movie is a little more tongue-in-cheek than other slashers of the era in my opinion. Like the scenes with Angela's mom who was such an obvious tranny.

Fun fact, Deron Miller (CKY) is married to the girl who played Angela
