yo mates I want to get back in to filming so I bought myself a new Canon HV30. Nice quality for sure but I need some help.

Ive been living under a rock when it comes to editing really, still got Adobe Premiere 6.0 on here and I can't seem to capture HD-footage with it, atleast, premiere doesn't recognise the cam in HD mode. In DV mode I can capture but I want the better quality footy of course.

So I've used HDVSplit or something which was alright and got me to capture footage as *.m2t files.

Soon I will buy a new PC cause my current one sucks for editing this stuff.

However my questions are:
1) Can Adobe Premiere CS3 (or higher) capture HD footy WITHOUT problems?
2) Can AP CS3 read *.m2t (premiere 6.0 can't)

lemme know guys!

thanks!!!

I've got Premiere CS3 and once you get all the updates for it then capturing HD works perfectly.

And yeah you can, but the format isn't as reliable as say .avi when it comes to editing.

"once you get all the updates for it"

When you download and crack CS3 you can update it with no worries, Adobe Updater needs to install a few things when you first start using the program like XDCAM Support and a wider range of HD import settings.

Its pretty standard stuff.

Could just get a normal Macbook and beef it up. I'm going to order some more RAM and such for mine in a few weeks.

ah yeah its been going pretty sick actually, I upgraded my shirts to better 190grams shirts, very good quality and I have some insane prints going on actually..some of the shirts were sold in some shirts here, I only make 4 per design so quite limited that is.. still takes me loads of time and money really but I just find it dope when people wear my stuff.. maybe I will put a few online here soon :)

Yeah, true. I would have went for a Pro if I had the money, but damn. I'm not willing to drop that much on a laptop at the moment.

I do enjoy the compact size of the normal Macbook though.
