Come On In

For those of you who care and are interested, and even those who are not. I am writing a Music Video Treatment that could possibly by shot late summer. My dad's life long friend is a director out of San Francisco and he is helping me get into the music video industry. I have to write out around 20 detailed treatments by summer. He is going to revise them and help perfect them. Then he is going to bring his equipment, being all from his studio where he shoots videos, and help me shoot the video for my reel/portfolio. My favorite one I have done so far has been for Shwayze - "BOOMERANG". I will have more details available to those that are interested in possibly having a hand in the video. I am going to be the director of this, therefore I get to choose my actors, techs, everything. I am not positive about the pay at the moment. I have become close contacts with Shwayze and Cisco Adler being that I have shot for them twice now, and he only lives about 40 minutes from me in Malibu. The way music videos work is any director can take a treatment (idea) for a video into the record label. They look at it, if they like it, they take it to the band, in which I would have already shown if it were to be Shwayze. After both the label and bands review the treatment and like it, they buy me and my idea. From there I create the video. So if this all develops well, with my resources it will be a huge help, it could possibly be a big thing for me, and anyone involved. Shwayze isn't that big yet, and knowing him before he got big, gives me a good chance to get them to do it. The guy helping me has shot for Filter, STP, Godsmack and someone else. Not that great of bands besides STP.

So to sum it up, I no longer have a desire to do movies. I have a passion for music, and film. So I'm starting on the path of a Music Video Director.

So what if I shot club sluts and shitty bands. I'm in where I want to be now.

Shwayze and Cisco Adler
Don't need to tell me about the quality. The lighting was horrid, and no real way to set up. I also did it for no charge though to get in good with Shwayze. Smoked 2 blunts to the face in the bus before walking in to film the show. Mucked up. That guys a beast and one of the most comical guys I know.

Good luck with it dude, wish you the best of luck. But just to let you know, that's really not the process inwhich music vids come together, and there's not really any money these days in music vids unless its for a huge band because budgets have fallen through the floor in the past 5 years.
