I usually hate films like this and maybe its just because I love star wars but I'll probably check this out.

This has been out Stateside for a while. I heard it was boring geek fodder. No wit or creativity, just countless nerd culture references. Like those stupid "Date Movie, Super Hero Movie, Inane Movie" movies.
It could surprise, but the trailer didn't seem to reach much beyond that either.

Whats wrong with nred culture references
I like pop cultural references in general and I like star wars, so I´ll check this out. And it has the guy from die Hard 4!

Meh, it's the idea that instead of a writing a well crafted joke, or developing a humorous situation, they just make a reference to a well-known cultural event as a punchline or as the only funny part of a scene. Anyone can do it, and it's largely considered one of the lower forms of comedic writing. But, of course if it makes you laugh, don't let that be any reason to deter you from watching.

Well, Family Guy can be very funny, and that's the entire crux of the show. So, if it's done well, it can be really enjoyable. It's just looked down on by most writers and critics. I happen to be professionals in both, therefor my opinion is far above that of anyone else.
