Konami is expanding its horror franchise stable, reports Variety, picking up the orphaned video game based on the Saw movie franchise, abandoned by the closure of Brash Entertainment. Do try to contain your enthusiasm.

Variety writes that the Saw video game, developed by Zombie Studios, is expected to ship alongside the sixth (sixth!) Saw movie, which is planned for a fall release. That's per its original schedule, when it was announced in January 2008 for a Halloween 2009 arrival on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

According to Variety's sources on the matter, the game will be a "bloody, violent M that's just as hard as the movies' R" and is also planned for release on the PC. Gameplay is theorized to be built around the traps built by main antagonist Jigsaw, possibly a Western take on Tecmo's bloody Deception series. (We hope.)

Previous reports on the Saw game pegged it for nearly completed, but floating through publisher space when the doomed from the start Brash went belly up.

I know this is gana turn out shit, but I hope they do pull it off as it could be a good little game.

I will probably play it somehow, don't know if I'll buy it though. I just wish they didn't pump new saw movies out of their assholes like they do.

I guess there would be puzzles based on a time limit (your life) slowly going down. Have a real bloody rendering of the torture device fucking you up based on the time left.

Or they could do a make your own torture device and add an engineering aspect.

Odds are they'll make it a fighting game lolz

They had the potential to make a seriously great game, decided to make it like they never even saw the movie just saw the title and figured they got the grasp of the movie.

Any fighting game with meatloaf in it is ok by me.

I do hope the saw game puts you in the role of jigsaw, something awesome like Tecmo's Dark Deception 3 would be the shit!

Ill buy it regardless of how good it turns out.

Oh man, when are they gonna stop with these Saw movies?
I sure hope they don't release the game and it's sequels as fast as they did the movies...

Gonna pass this game by a mile. I've seen 4 Saw movies too many this far and I seriously don't know why I didn't learn from watching 2. I don't know why a game would be any different for me. Excessive violence is so overdone by now.

Lol, they should'nt even make 6. Five movies is really a lot, seven is just fucking ridiculous.
