k I was on my good comp and it randomly restarted when I was just doing normal stuff. but it randomly restarted and it starts to load programs at the start e.g > audio, damon tools, etc. and it gets so far then it crashes again and tries to restart
any ideas on whats wrong?? im stuck on my old ass computer right now. to give u an idea on how old it is. the primary hardrive has about 8 gigs.
so please any help other then format, I cant risk loosing all the stuff I have on my good comp.
ughh, im going to go to the local comp shop 2morrow, but I might just end up an hero-ing myself instead

Could be a lot of things. I'm leaning towards the HDD though.
Will it boot into safe mode?

What 'mhz' is your RAM at, are they the same (or do you only have one stick in?)
Different RAM speeds and such can affect a computer in that way.
Try running CPU-Z (http://www.cpuid.com/cpuz.php) and looking at the Memory section if you don't know, the problem could lie with the RAM, I had this problem and new RAM of the same type solved it.

could be a driver failure, or something in startup is causing it to crash. reboot into safemode and see if anything like that happens.

Get a new fan and add another gig of ram should do the trick, as well as a good d-frag and computer clean up.
try dusting off the fan and such, or make sure your computer has enough room to vent, I had a similar problem and it was basically my computer shutting itself off due to over heating.

mine died two nights ago
lost hours of work and shit loads of footage I had on the thing
mines a different problem, but it restarts too before loading progs.. and on the boot up theres shit loads of !!!! over the screen and an immense amount of gibberish

Start in safe mode and go to msconfig and block the startup programs.
