if I hadn't literally just filled my computer with valuable stuff the other day I MAY have given this a try for the fun of it. might stick it on an old 20gig I've got laying around.

It seems better then vista. I downloaded some Windows 7 7000 Beta FULL on torrents and installed it on one of my shit PC's. It is awesome and really feels like the full version. They took the watermark off and everything. I HATE Vista but this might go somewhere.

I tried this the other day it's not too bad, I hate vista too but it's got its differences, the taskbar looks a little strange with its squarey icons but even though I don't mind it I probably wouldn't use it.
I still think XP is the best OS they've made so far. Either that or Windows 98 was pretty sweet. lol

aren't they pretty much just ripping everyone else off (KDE/ Gnome / os 10/11 tiger whatever it's called now) now, because they haven't got anything original/better to offer?

I've messed around with it a little bit. I'm no hardcore computer nerd so all I can say about it is I think it's a great improvement over vista. It seems to run about the same speed as XP and it looks really pretty. Some of the little features I thought was cool was being able to turn all of your windows transparent, controlling each windows volume separately and um... I guess that's it, I only messed with it for about an hour. MS Paint was way cooler too.
Yeah, it looks a lot different, but that's how technology is; always changing, why don't people get over the fact that that's how it is and get off XP's dick for a change of pace?

Cos XP's dick is bigger than Vista's.
Most people just don't like to change thing's they're used to I suppose.
The only questions I have about W7 is will it be capable with all my WinXP drivers like my sound card, GFX, capture card, wifi dongle etc...??
