I'm about to have a job and save up some loot and try to buy a sony vx1000. anyone out there trying to sell one? or does anyone know where a good website is to buy one. not bid on one..buy one

I'm not trying to spend more than $1000

They do. Imre just wants to sound educated.

Non-HD cameras won't be obsolete anytime soon, especially VX's in the skateboarding scene (this is what he'll be filming).

Sony seems to be slowly switching to cmos. Hdr fx7 took the vx2100s spot. Or take in mind the new fx1000 (3 cmos) to take the fx1s(3ccd) spot. Lots of canon hdv cams lately are picking up on cmos. I am self educated on cameras and chips. Yates is just touchy on this subject cause he loves his 3ccd. I wouldn't know that love cause I haven't owned one and don't plan on it. But 3ccd seems the right choice for skate vids.

Mine is incredible. I really don't want to sell it, and probably won't unless I'll have enough to immediately get an upgrade. I'm moving to a new place and plan to start shooting stuff very soon. So unless I have one to replace it, and upgrade, I will not let it leave my side.
