Sony Hdr-sr12 Help

hey I just bought a sony HDR-sr12
- 120 gig hard drive
- High def
- Built in 10.2 megapixel camera

I tried to record some test footage, I went to take it off but in the footage is in .MTS files. Does anybody know anything about these file types. The operating guide says that they are going to be in .AVCHD format, but I guess not.

It is .avchd your comp just sucks balls. Does it not come with a cd/dvd to play the files???\\\

.mts is a avchd format.

Oh, yeah and .mts files are generally under 2 seconds long so your computer cant handle them.

MTS is AVCHD , and he meant hard drive we know hd is the future, but hard drive is not.

Dude, .mts is avchd. Its the right format. No need for convert.

Your best bet is newest sony wegas, because Sony has been pioner in avchd.

I downloaded the update for vegas 7 last night. it doesn't seem to work I guess im going to get vegas 8 pro.

I would have gotten a different high def but in canada we have this day like Americas black friday and its right after christmas. So when I got to future shop they only had the hdd model left so I picked it up. and a wide angle lens

Sr10,sr11 and sr12 work good with Imovie 08, get a MAC!!!!

yeah me too. But I needed an upgrade from my mini dv handy cam. I wanted something with tapes but I couldn't find what I was looking for.
I have a large fireproof case full of tapes.

Im a large fan of tapes but. 2 days! 2 fucking days!

I am a fan of tapes but I personally like the sr12, I think it shoots great picture and hard drive is great if u just want to throw up a screen cap really fast or something.
