oi mates!
im looking into getting a good SLR cam, ive narrowed it down to the nikon d40 and the nikon d60. im just looking for some extra bit of knowledge on the 2 because I dont exactly have that much money but found 2 good deals on them. and im just looking in the general differences between them and just like how much better the d60 is to the d40 and the quality of them both.

We use a D40 when we go one bigger shoots, as well as a Canon EOS 50D on occasion, love them both but I like the canon better.
As for your problem, no idea.

I got the D40. For what it's worth I love it, but never used a D60.

Aint used it in ages, but all the colour photos on here:
http://www.loddophoto.co.uk/are with the D40. Most have been compressed tho from what it can actually do obviously.
