Need Advice/help With Something?

this topic isnt just to do with editing but I felt as there is only 3 topics on this part of the site it must feel neglected.

but the idea to this topic: it could prove usefull to those in need of some advice with a current problem while making there crews videos/dvds. someone here might have knowledge and/or the physical skills like photoshop, video editing, creating titles ect. of course payment or otherwise is discussed in PM.


but you can also ask for some help with cameras, filetypes, conpression, editing programs ect ect and im sure someone here can give you some links or opinions.

I know some people wont like asking for help for whatever reason but this is here so people can benefit from. it just seems so many people on here are against eachothers crews they dont want to help them out and rather put them down, I came and stayed here to watch some great homegrown dvds but its let me down somewhat with so many pojects being lost due to £1 external harddrives. but anyway as awhole we could benefit from helping others because we'll see projects move along faster if we work as a community....?

the problem with this is that if theres alot of questions then its hard to keep track of YOUR question and finding the answer for it from who ever.
Where as if u make a thread specifically for your problem you wont have random answers about other stuff in there to get through..

I felt alot of people dont like making a whole thread for a single question which is why you dont see to many of them nowdays.

even so when you scroll down to find the person who quoted you with an anwser of whatever maybe you see a question you can help with.

seemed like it could work for the people who are still filmmmaking.

So I propose that the mods keep order for this topic as it can only benefit EVERYONE, if we don't have people spamming it. If a question goes unanswered bump it up every day. Lets try to help everyone else out. I'm sure everyone here wants to pursue their videography beyond stunts/skits at some point.

So I as a mod will be issuing warnings to anyone whom spams this thread.

Mods please be responsible and remember your job and why your a mod.

while im here, anyone good with after effects I need help with sound issues.

Basically when I Preview the video no sound comes out, the sound bars dont even pick up sound, when I save as a AVI no sound.

However when I Ram-Preview it, the sound works. Please help!

I make the mistake a lot of leaving my camera on play mode and plugged in. Doing that (while editing in adobe premiere pro) doesn't allow any sound to play through your speakers/headphones.

Maybe something along those lines?

Someone had some killer after effects videos they made. Can't recall who it was though. They just started messing with it about a month ago?

question, what is the purpose of duel monitors?

Is it worth it to have it set up?

Yes. I run duel. Makes life much easier because you can watch your video on one monitor and edit on another. So you can blow the size up to full instead of like 33%. It's a luxury though, not needed.

Some cameras have an option to adjust how much sound your mic pics up. Whenever you ask a question about a camera, you might want to include the make and model.

If you're filming indoors in a small room then always use directional mics.

Anyway what would I have to do to mount the mke-300 to a boom pole, should I want to at some point. As in what cables would I have to get to connect the mic to the camera from that distance?
