Ive been trying to upload stuff to my server and the hgf server and am getting speeds going between 8kb and 0kb, to upload something 4 mb has so far taken over 3 hours.
Any idea on things I can try to fix the upload speeds?
07 November 2008, 07:34 UTC#2
Are the videos over 2 seconds long?
07 November 2008, 07:41 UTC#3
yessir
the one im trying to upload is 14 mb
Like the upload will start off with decent speed but then immediately go down to 0 kb, then 5 kb, then 0, then restarts, then 4, then 0, ect.
ive tried diff ftp programs, web based and programs, tried different files, ect.

Well, I'm out.
WILL SOMEONE HELP THE MAN ALREADY?

it just started happening this morning, was working just fine yesterday

Sounds like its possibly something to do with the internet, or a program that connects to the internet.
Either way, deff internet related.
07 November 2008, 12:48 UTC#7
Yeah, I wouldn't worry about your PC. Maybe you're just trying to upload during "peak hours," when your provider's usage is really high and they have a hard to handling all of the data?
Maybe?
07 November 2008, 13:22 UTC#8
so peak hours are from 8am to 3am the next day?

Its a computer problem, its not my server, as its slow on both servers
Its not the file, as ive tried other files,
Its not my ftp program, as ive tried different programs.
Its not my firewall as ive shut that thing off
Ive tried restarting to comp, unplugging the modem, the only possibilities I can think of are my modem is messed up, my service provider has an upload limit, or there is some software issue that im not seeing.
Everything worked fine the day before, and for some reason its all messed up now.

Try this,
Start > Run > type 'cmd' > type tracert yourdomain.com > right click in the command window and hit mark, drag over the text, hit enter and paste into this topic.

india did what you bastards didnt!
Finally a decent tech support situation.
However the small talk while the comp was turning back on was funny.
Lady - Did you just enjoy your dinner?
Me - Lady, its like, 1pm here...
Lady - Oh, so its time for lunch
Me - I havent eaten yet
Lady - Oh, well dont forget to, you can get sick.

Hey dude,
I've had a drink so ignore the typo's
whats speed is your internet?
and are you connecting via cable or wirless?
Im on 2mb, and can download at about 1mb, but cant upload @ a 10th of that speed,
Broad band downlaod and upload speeds are diffrent. Also try uploading the same clip to youtube and see how fast that takes it, if its faster you know your internet is fine and its the sever your uploading to thats at fault.
At least that why we can work out what's at fault, and try and find a work around.

He's already sorted it Tom.
