There are two ways you can go about it...
1. Dont do it, thats the safest way.
2. If your gonna do it, here is some tips.....
(I take no responsibility for what you choose to do with this knowledge, proceed at your own risk, fire is unpredictable and can cause panic quickly......)
-Dont be stupid and soak your head, you need that for living.
-If you want a big back burn, your gonna need the following.
-Sweater
-High grade duct tape, (dont go cheap on this, get the 11 dollar kind that is meant to be used in hot temps)
-Rubber Cement
-Hair Conditioner
1. Take the sweater and line it with strips of the duct tape so that the entire back is covered in multiple layers. No cracks or holes
2. Put the sweater on, then another long sleeved shirt or sweater over it.
3. Cover your hair, hands, and any exposed flesh (back of the neck, ect.) in the hair conditioner, its a poor mans fire gel, make sure you use alot!
4. Have someone paint your back with the rubber cement, put it in all the area you want on fire (not on your skin, and make sure it doesn't get on your body)
5. Be near a pool or lake. if this isn't possible, have 4 people with soaking wet towels to smother you when your done with the fire burn.
6. Roll camera and light the rubber cement
7. Do your preplanned run, as soon as you are done or it gets too hot, dive onto your chest and keep you arms tucked to your side. As soon as you drop your 4 assistance must then smother the flame across your whole body, it helps to have someone there with a bucket or fire extinguisher as a backup.
8. Remove the burnt clothing and enjoy the footage.
It sounds like alot of fucking work, but its the safest way to do it on a small budget.
Don't use a liquid based gas as it can spread to fast and is unpredictable. Rubber cement burns great and wont spill to unwanted areas.
With the method described, I did this burn
