Playstation 3

First of all, does anyone own a PS3? I think Sony screwed me over badly with the latest update.. They made most of my Divx movies I had on my ps3 harddrive unwatchable due to some dispute with Divx or due to some copyright issues, I don't know, but it sucks.

There were a couple of reasons and I did weigh the two against each other but I finally ended up choosing the PS3. Plus I got a good deal on a PS3 with a 250gb hard drive.

I've considered a PS3 solely because of the Blu-Ray.

But as rarely as I play video games it would just be a waste.

You could always try to crash down the firmware. I'm sure if this is fucking every one else too there will be a fix real soon.

If I ever buy a console again , I would probably grab ps3. I have always been a ps man, and will probably stick with it.

Yeah well 90% of that picture doesn't concern me at all. I don't have any old PS games, don't plan to buy any, I'm likely to buy 3-4 games a year so I couldn't give 2 shits if I will never be able to play Ninja Gaiden 2, and why would I want to customize my PS3 when it looks as good as it does, I have a 250gb hard drive big and GTAIV didn't take too long at all to install.
Those points are all debatable one way or the other. Xbox has it perks though I admit but none that makes me regret my PS3 purchase.

Just been looking into Blu-Ray lately. Looks so gorgeous.

I saw a player going for $190 at Circuit City the other day. Not sure if it's worth a shit though.

No idea why your Divx movies are fucking up, my bro spent awhile downloading different players so we could watch everything so I'll ask him when he gets home if he knows of anything for you to download.

I would go for ps3, mainly because Blue Ray kicked hd-dvd´s ass. Hahaha, howbout that xboxers?


But for realz, Wii is where the win is at.

As far as Blu-ray goes. Xbox is working on a Blu-ray add on drive similar to the HD-DVD drive. In addition, they are about to launch an update that works with netflix subscriptions. Netflix does Blu-ray and HD content streaming. No need for a disc.

Plus, the Blu-ray player in the Ps3 sucks balls compared to any decent stand alone player.

I would hate to have an external blue ray drive connected to my console. I haven't even tried watching any BD movies on my PS yet because my tv's is not hd but isn't the BD-drive in the PS3 supposed to be one of the better ones on the market?

What games you got for the ps3?

Only GTA, NHL2009 and Gran Turismo 5 which came with the console. Haven't had time to play it much at all but will be getting more games and time to play in december

Get Drakes Fortune and Bioshock.

Drakes is like a combo of tomb raider and prince of persia.

Bioshock is a first person shooter that has an amazing story.

Both are fun as fuck. Also Call of Duty 4 (modern day first person shooter with most excellent online play).

If you get COD4 let me know so we can play online together.

That was way back in march though...there has been loads of stuff saying that they are trying to get one. Although I don't want or think they will anyways, they seem to be pushing downloadable media as the future. Blu ray will be in the next xbox tho for sure.

I really don't want DVD's to be phased out by Blu Ray.

Wont happen any time soon. But it will happen, if not by blu ray it will digital downloads.
