yes, I used a song and they had to take my video off.

I've got some videos taken off, but it was because the content was 'inappropriate'. Some of the stuff wasn't even that bad, I have seen homegrown videos with content just as disgusting, staying on youtube for years. And what puzzles me even more, is the vast quantity of Bud Dwyer suicide videos that don't get deleted.

I had some company calim they owned all the first year of videos we made, still cant upload them to Veoh, but never music issues.

I thought it was lame, I don't care..

Happened to me today with a really old video that isn't great anyway, but if they do it with any of our new ones it'll suck.

I heard mr safety had some of his songs music videos removed from youtube because a record company claimed they owned them. but they was created 100% by mr saftey himself for youtube.

I'd upload it and a couple of hours later I'd get an email telling me that it was taken down cos someone else had claimed the copyright and when I sent a dispute I got no reply.

there just videos on the web, like fan videos to a song, how come those fan videos dont get taken down?

they make enough money as it is

It's the record companies, not the artists. It's just a business and they see it as you taking away from their profits.

They use audio recognition software. It analyzes a select few videos and looks for matching notes. If enough are found it usually automatically removes the video. They do the same thing now for TV shows and stuff with frames.
