back in late 2006 I bought a sony vx 2100 brand new from the sony shop...
it was fine for the first few months of usage then it randomly developed a problem (april 2007), like a clicking noise which came from the lens area.. sent it to sonys repair centre they sent it back all well and good

anyways I've been using it when I can and theres a few things I have to film urgently in the coming weeks, I turned it on today with my raynox lens attatched and I seemed to be getting a blue line over everything.. I took the lens off and it seemed to be like flickering with the blue lines.. also the quality of the image has diminished, rather than being a bright detailed display as normal, it's kinda washed out drab and shitty..

pics added, just incase anyone has any idea as to whats going on with it... if it's an easy fix or if it's a one month sony repair centre jobby again

me thinks you ccd or ensor is nackered hence the blue line. either that or the firmware between you lens and ccd has fuckd up. either way I would egt it back to sony and get them o check it ou, tell them what the rob is and ty should investiagte it. anyayn love yoo, bit drunk so dont mind me if tise does't mak e much sense.

will prob make more sense in the mornign. xx

That looks like a leaking capacitor man, I got similar lines on one of my cams except they're vertical and green and red instead of blue.

I could be wrong but it does look very similar to my problem.

sort of wants me to stray away from the 2100 then. Any well known problems with the vx2000 I can get one cheap.

I haven't had a single problem with my VX2100, and I bought it used about a year and a half ago.

not if you turn the decibel thinger up. it gets really grainy in full zoom and it is still somewhat grainy not in full zoom but you get right good low light shots

it probably was, in which case the sony repair centre should notify me as to what the problem is.. thus if it is due to creed and his can of sticky syrupy beverage then I've got no choice other than to make him pay for the repairs.. we got him on camera anyways saying that if it becomes fucked due to the drink he'll pay the costs
