Okay, I'm preparing to get totally shot down by a bunch of people on here saying "Alright Moody" and shit like that, but I had an idea today while bored sitting in history class that would help get HGF and all the groups involved out there for the whole world to see. A lot of people here have really kickass footage that deserves much more merit and exposure and it really doesn't pay to sit around and wait for a TV spot to fall in your lap. I propose that we all come together as one giant team and compile footage for one of the craziest DVDs of all time. (Sounds like the Homegrown Collection, I know, but hear me out.) Everyone will have a chance to be recognized and compensated for their footage and (Unlike the HG Collection) it is all controlled by each individual person. I'm not asking anyone to spoil any of their future, unseen footage or anything. Each group/person would only submit what they wanted to and we could get the best editors on here to take on various segments. The point is to have golden material scene by scene whether it be stunts, skits, pranks, skating, tagging or anything anyone does on here that will blend well with all the aforementioned stuff. Now how to we compensate everyone for their efforts? Well, we will have to see what we can find by way of DVD mass-producers. See, if we can put money together for a big bulk batch, we figure out how much each DVD costs by itself and they will be distributed to each person based upon how many they paid for. In this situation, only people who had something to do with the DVD's production will be eligible to receive the bare-minimum priced copies. Then, each person only makes as much as they sell. This way, profit break up isn't an issue because, if you don't sell as much as the next person, there's no one to blame but yourself. Obviously there'd have to be some debate as to how there'd be or who would be a middleman. That's really the only problem with all this. We would need to figure out how to regulate how people would pitch money in to buy the DVDs and how they'd get out to everyone, but I really don't think that's an issue that we couldn't figure out. Just think about it, combined we'd be unstoppable. We'd have unlimited resources with editing, connections, web design, hosting, willing bands, etc. What better way to come together as this big fucked up dysfunctional family than to put all our best shit together and shop it around to anyone and everyone who would watch it in numerous locations all over the world due to having a diverse community such as this one. I know in the grand scheme of things I'm pretty fresh compared to a lot of people on here, but I've been around long enough to understand that we need something like this to push HG entertainment back into the limelight again and make our marks wherever possible. Think about it, between names on segments to names/links in the credits and even individual group pages online if we were to make a home site for the DVD, who knows where this could go. Now, some of you guys might think this is complete shit, but please just give civilized criticism. I've put a lot of thought into this, but it's no where near a finished plan yet. What do you think?

this issue has been raised several times, I think its to much of a big task would take a hell of alot of organising to make it half decent.
if someone awesome at editing who everyone trusted stepped up to sort it all out I think people would get into it,
it seems like a good idea but I think practically just not going to happen most big groups already film with other big groups

Yeah, I hear ya. I just see everyone complain about how not many people film or if they film it's not a lot because it's rare. But this would be that way to motivate people to at least film a little bit, make it their best, and put it out with a DVD made up of stuff from all their fellow peers and shown all over the place. If no one wants to do it, it doesn't hurt me. We have our own stuff to do. I just wanted to extend this as a possibility to everyone.

Alex I know your intentions are good but I dont think that anyone here really believes in these sort of projects unless its (as sectioned said) managed and organized by an "awesome and trusted" +og talented hgf.er

And no offence but I have a weird ;o feeling that people here dont take you very seriously.

People wanna do their own thing with HG.

This will only appeal to shitty groups who wanna be part of something or dead groups who can spare the additional footage.

Hahaha, yeah I was thinking the same shit when I wrote that. But yeah.

And j0nes, I definitely agree with you. I don't know what I would do to make people take me more seriously. I guess releasing more footage is a start but it feels to me that, since I wasn't here from the beginning, I'll never be considered and equal. Fucking sob story I know, but it definitely feels that way.

And I was throwing out this plan hoping some OG would pick it up and run with it. But it's all good. Back to M.I.A. business!

if something like this became easy for me id be down. but I see everyone being broke and lazy. some people would slack on shit while others wouldnt and it would just look like a cluster fuck of self promotion for amature filmers.

That's precisely what he was getting at as I brought it up in another thread.

I know I don't post here like ever, and you people probably barely know who I am at all. But I agree with Alex. This would be an awesome project if we could all pull together and try and work this out instead of jumping to any conclusions.

"We have our own stuff to do."

You said it for yourself, alot of groups and more concentrated on their own shit, so they aint got the time to fuck around with 'big projects'.
