There was quite a bit of hype for this DVD with the anticipation of crazy stunts, fights and other random crap. So yeah I promised I would review this, and I promised I would be honest so hear it goes.

So let’s start with the filming of the DVD.
Some of the footage was shaky which made it hard to watch and understand what was going on in some stunts. The skateboarding footage was 50-50, some was filmed in such a pro style I loved it, yet other parts were let down again by the camera man. The angles used for the stunts were well thought out and used well.

Editing
Most of this DVD was edited in a cut start fashion, as in you would see the start of the stunt, then a part is missing and it will carry on with the rest of the stunt. Or show the intro to a stunt, show something else and come back to the rest of that original stunt. Allot of footage is re-used throughout the DVD so you end up seeing a stunt 3/4 times.
What I didn’t get was it seemed like you were trying to sell the DVD although if you’re watching it you would presume people have bought it... What I mean by this is there are so many links shown throughout the DVD. Links to the site, to the freak.inc Myspace etc. Sometimes these links were straight down the middle of a stunt meaning u couldn’t see the stunt properly.
It felt like you were editing trailers and just stuck them all together. Also the font/text you used was really basic and sometimes spelt wrong, leaving a very amateur mark on the DVD.

Music
Some fit the footage, some didn’t... simple as that.

Stunts/Fights/Skating etc
Quite a few stunts I had seen before such as the roll down hill light tube stunt, and some of the stunts with rico. There were no massive crazy ass fucking stunts that made me go "O SHIT I GOTTA SEE THAT AGAIN!” The massively hyped Cross stunt wasn’t even that amazing, was a fucking great idea, but just didn’t look that amazing.
The fights? The best actual fight was the girl fight; they really let each other have it. The Guys fights were what you expect nothing special there. I did like the argument with the mum after one fight.
Skating was really good, great tricks etc, the guys looked really pro which was good and good to watch.

Overall
The whole thing felt like a mix up for the net, not a DVD. Lots of links to Freak.inc sites, I can understand links to sites of the groups that were in the DVD. The footage was quite poorly filmed and edited at times.

My fav bits were the DR interview, Human Maybe, and the Get Tested skit. The DVD was average but had some good bits in it that made you watch it till the end. I doubt id watch it again to be fair.

All in all.

Lol, but is it worth 10 bucks?

Also my only response is, did you watch Yate's fight? I think the bitch fight is tame as fuck compared to that one.

Instead of making a whole new thread...Ray's Review of this DVD Follows -

Alright, let me preface this by saying that this DVD is definitely worth the 10 dollars.

Freak.Inc's DVD is a solid mix of stunts, skating, and a lot of your favorite people from the Forums; it's like an HGF all-star game, with Rico somehow making his way on the team.

Filming
The angles and cameras for the majority of the piece are pretty much what you would expect from a respectable group on here. There aren't any breathtaking shots or overwhelmingly beautiful scopes of a specific stunt; but, who decided that it was necessary to have those sorts of things for it to be enjoyable? The filming worked well. The skating segments were done well by the 3RC dudes. There wasn't a single stunt that was marred by the camera work. Another thing, kudos to Al for filming straight through his entire exchange with the police officer. Al does a good job demonstrating a cameraman's rights and gets solid footage out of it. There were also some great candid shots inside of the doctor's office and Emergency Room, which were unique and donated a lot to that segment overall.

Editing/Music
The editing had both its ups and its downs (enter mental retardation joke here). On one hand, the individual segments were all very well edited. On the other hand, it's easy to tell that these were all individual segments edited separately and then thrown together. Not everything flows into everything else seamlessly, but it doesn't do a lot to hold it back. The editing is very consistent in that the entire piece has a very dark vibe to it. The music is a major contributor to this; and I think it's one of the strongest parts of the film. Whenever you watch a movie or a film, you get a certain feeling from it; it sets a mood for you, and your emotions take over from there. The music in this sets a consistent tone and mood that makes you feel the same way the entire time, for me, it was a very dark and twisted sort of feeling. You're watching some of the lowest things people do to themselves and other people, and the tone really encapsulates that throughout all of it.

Footage/Stunts
I think one of the things that held back this DVD is the fact that Al has been so generous in the past in releasing solid footage online for us to see. A lot of the most cringe-worthy moments had been experienced years before (mousetrap to the tongue, for instance). The stunts and results of the stunts are very good, it's just that we've seen them before from Al, so they don't have as large of an impact on us as they would if we were seeing them for the first time. The stunts are all well-planned, and well-executed. The crucifixion stunt is very brutal, and the fact that the FOX news crew were filming it all made it that much more compelling.

Overall, this is a very solid DVD, and you would be a fool not to spend a few bucks to get the chance to watch it. A lot of your favorite people from here are well represented, and you owe it to yourself as a fan of what we do to see it. Don't be hatin' just sit back and enjoy.

Zaid, you gotta admit that 5/10 is unreasonable. That's a failing grade by a lot.

I admitted it has faults, and highlighted the shortcomings, which were not excessive or detrimental enough to merit an F. You know that's true.

I definitely agree with you on the intrusive URLs flashing across the screen. And, I told that to Al as I was watching it, actually. That was definitely a big negative for me. But, it's not important enough to merit a massive hit on its score because of that. Not to me at least.

Overall I would say this DVD is definately worth $10.

I will agree that some of the editing could of been better but I mean shit its a homegrown DVD. Wouldn't you expect that?

Some of the website plugs did get old and were sorta unecessary though.

Buy a copy, definately worth the money.

5/10 is a 50%. Even in the most generous grading scales, 60% is the lowest passing grade.

8/10 is a B. 7/10 is a C.

It's simple mathhhhhhh.
