Ok, granted I am slightly drunk right now but I want opinions. I got an email from NUS (nation union of students, or something) about a month ago about drug testing and the more I think about it, the more sense it makes to pimp out my body for $$$
They are offering £800 ($1600) to £3000 ($6000) and I wanna buy a fucking car. Me and Rob are seriously considering it cause we're lazy and can't be bothered to find a temp summer job.
Here's the site -

edit: fucking hell, couldnt do a poll

money sounds ok, but then you gotta think of the risk involved.. I mean if one of the side effects is just vomiting or the shits or something for two days, then the money is great for the small amount of time of discomfort..
if however the side effect involves blindness, impotence, seizuresloss of memory whatever, then is it realy worth it?
I mean you'd basically be the guinea pig.. when drugs get released they tell you on the box what side effects could be, they only compile such data after they have people go through the testing program
weigh out the pros and cons man,
good money but with a possible chance of being fucked up for life after
crap/no money but your health
26 June 2008, 22:40 UTC#5
I wouldn't.
But then, it is easy cash. I just like alcohol etc too much.
(I guess 'being a healthy person' includes non-drinking + no drugs?)
26 June 2008, 22:40 UTC#6
id do it but I have bare money and no time.
ps free drugs!
26 June 2008, 22:59 UTC#7
take the pills and sell them on the street
26 June 2008, 23:05 UTC#8
me and josh came close to doing this. If they have got to the point where they feel its safe to test on humans its a fair bet its ganan be ok. Granted theres a chance but yeah, I'd do it for sure.

That's why you get good footage.
I'd be kinda paranoid about taking part in this, but probably would end up doing it.

Mike I just rang them. They said since the email was sent out to NUS people, their online database has been flooded, so it's probably best to register over the phone. I registered, was quite quick. But you've gotta know your exact height and weight.
She told me that tests lasting between 3-4 days pay between 700-900 quid, a week to 2 is 1500, a month is 2000 upwards.
They have fucking loads of tests man, so it's pretty much decide when you wanna go in n go for it. So register, and we'll do one together. Get Jamie in on it too.

I read that they take BMI into account, and technically I am just underweight so I'm not sure if I could do clinical tests that involve a physical aspect. Therefore I get left with psychological drugs which seem so much less inviting.
I spoke to my mum about it again and she's realllly against it. However, she offered to let me use money from my savings which they were gonna hold back on until I was 21

Urgh, I'm not sure man. In my drunken state last night it seemed like the best idea ever. When did they say they'll get back to you?
27 June 2008, 12:32 UTC#23
Well I've gotta ring em back when I've got my weight, I'm registered but they're just waiting on that.
Ok dude, no worries. But she recommended I call on Monday as that's when new tests come in. So I'm gonna try and get in for one next week.
Wish me luck!

Godspeed Robert!

I've signed up for about three of these companies over the past few months and non have got back to me apart from one saying I wasn't suitable for the tests they had right now but they would keep me on the books. it's annoying too cause they all said that nearly everyone that signed up would get to partake in at least one test.
humph, anyway got sent home early on my last day so w00t

Don't let this scare you by any means lol, but I saw a BBC documentary about a guy who agreed to test some new drug and his body just flipped out completely. (At least) All his fingers and the tips of his feet suffered a gangrene and were solid as rock and had to be amputated, I think his penis went bye bye as well.
Let's just say that documentary scared me enough never to agree on any of these medical experiments.
